Mass Effect: Andromeda's Animations Have Been The Talk Of The Town Since Last Week
/Everybody has been talking about the hilarious animations of Mass Effect: Andromeda, and it's getting worse.
This is probably not the reception they wanted when EA and Bioware gave players access to the latest Mass Effect game a week before release thanks to EA Access, a subscription service. Subscribers got a taste of the full game on March 16.
The latest Mass Effect game has gained new fame thanks to these animations and weird bugs that somehow have triggered the internet to create video compilations and memes to put these on the spotlight. These reactions, like the ones above and below, is not a good thing to see, especially those excited to take the plunge to Andromeda this week.
It's hard to ignore, and it's spreading like wildfire. NeoGaf has a compilation thread of all the weird things they've picked up so far. They do look funny and the animation quality is questionable, so it's only natural for some eager fans to ask directly if there will be a patch, or if the day 1 patch was not implemented during the early access.
There will be a day 1 patch but Ian Frazier confirms via tweet that the day 1 patch was already implemented during the early access. But for the animation fix?
Oh well, I guess we'll have to live with it for now.
But kidding aside, it's apparently getting worse, unleashing the worse side of the internet. In a report by Kotaku, some internet folks are bullying what they thought was the lead animator in Mass Effect: Andromeda. Regardless of the misinformation, this act of online bullying on one specific person isn't cool.
Update 1: Bioware has responded to the online attacks. Despite the bad first impressions because of the game's animations, this negative reaction and focus on one person is really not the answer. Ever. Also, this is based off one aspect that makes a game.
Is this kind of negative backlash enough to hold you off from getting the game on day 1? It's really all about the animations so far, which is clouding the overall product.
Mass Effect: Andromeda will hit this week on March 21 in North America and March 23 worldwide on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox One, and PC.
