Halloween 2013 Special

halloween 2013 Tis the season to be scary and the general consensus is to watch a bunch of horror movies. But since we like to play video games, this is the perfect time to revist the genre of survival horror.

Migoy and Bud get down and dirty with a few indie horror games on PC and one game on the Nintendo Wii.

Games featured:

PC: Slender One Late Night SCP Containment Breach Wii: Calling

We also did a short LP of the original Silent Hill on the TMG Let's Play Channel with one of our friends from GenesisPH.

Delayed: Watch Dogs and Driveclub pushed to 2014

delayed cover This was bound to happen. We are entering a next generation of gaming, developers will feel the pressure and will be forced to ask for more time. This sadly has happened to two titles planned to be launch titles- Watch Dogs, a multi-platform modern sandbox and PS4's exclusive racer Driveclub, both pushed for a 2014 release.

First up is Watch Dogs. Why the push? Ubisoft simply needs the extra time in polishing the game. It's a new IP, I get it. I actually want this to be a new franchise to succeed for the European publisher. What's disappointing is that this is one of the big titles that would make me consider either a PS4 or a Xbox 360. With my PC's current setup, I won't be able to hit that extra high setting, so I was considering the early jump for next-gen to experience Watch Dogs in the best quality possible. Now without Watch Dogs, I'm finding it hard to justify going day one with next-gen consoles.

Next title is Driveclub, which has been push from its November 15 release to an early 2014 release. This was another disappointment because this stunning racing game was planned to be the first free game PS4 game for PlayStation Plus members. Since it was delayed, Sony replaces it with Contrast, Complusion's puzzle platformer of light and shadow free to download on November 15. Sony is also throwing in a "Open Weekend" trial of Killzone: Shadow Fall for PlayStation Plus members on December 28 to 29.

Delays are a pain but again- It's a next-gen console launch. We're anxious to get our hands on the consoles, while launch title developers are freaking out because launch is only weeks away.

Watch Dogs is now placed on a Spring 2014 release for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC. While Driveclub is now on an early 2014 release exclusively for PlayStation 4.

The Cat Lady

The Cat Lady 01 To continue with the theme of spooky games for the month of October, one of Bud's classmates recommended us to play The Cat Lady, an indie side scroller point and click style adventure game.

From TheCatLady.co.uk

The Cat Lady is a new, critically acclaimed horror adventure game by designer R. Michalski (Author of Downfall, 2009). A gripping story, pumping soundtrack, high-resolution artwork and voice acting will engross you on your journey through the strange and often terrifying world of The Cat Lady. 3 years in the making, it's an adventure not to be missed!

Unfortunately we stopped recording up until things got intense, and boy was it intense. We did livestream a bit of what comes after though on our Twitch.TV channel so follow us over there to catch live us when we stream some videogames.

Thief debut gameplay trailer

Thief6 Square Enix released a new trailer for Thief, showcasing the game's core gameplay. This is a reboot of the Thief series and it's looking pretty good and familiar at the same time.

The video shows Garret taking a job from an old friend; to steal the lion's heart. You see him infiltrate, steal, and escape without a hitch...well mostly.

Don't hold your breathe with this one, Thief will be released on February 25, 2014 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC. February is looking to be a crowded month.

Check out the first 5 minutes of BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea

BioShock-Infinite-Burial-at-Sea-Unaffected-by-Irrational-Games-Layoffs-380803-2 Irrational Games released the first 5 minutes of BioShock Infinite's two-part story DLC. It's called Burial at Sea, and you revisit a very memorable place.  WARNING: A bit of spoilers if you haven't touched the original game.

I'm pretty excited about this. Mainly because we get to experience Rapture in its prime, before everything went to hell. You control Booker Dewitt yet again, but this time you get hired by Elizabeth to find a girl named Sally.  Interesting stuff, hopefully Irrational Games won't take a long time in developing it.

Burial at Sea is broken into two episodes; you playing as Booker Dewitt for the first episode, then for the first time control Elizabeth for the last episode. No release date was given so far, but it's planned to hit this year.
