Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 - Rocket Raccoon and Frank West Character Reveal Trailer

Character reveal Capcom just revealed the last two characters joinging Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom3, for Marvel we have...... Rocket Raccoon. I have no clue that Marvel had a character like this and people thought he'd be a joke. Well from what I see in the trailer reveal, he's going to be pretty nasty. Can't wait to see the pro's get their hands on this small critter. For Capcom's side we have Frank West, the protagonist of the first Dead Rising game. He honestly looks similar to when he was in Tatsunoko vs Capcom.

Rocket Raccoon Character Reveal Trailer

It seems he has a lot of tricks up his sleeves. Rocket Raccoon going underground might come as a problem, at the same time the guy is just as small as Amaterasu(The dog in Marvel vs Capcom 3) so his hit box will be definitely be an issue for some character moves.

Frank West Character Reveal Trailer

What's up with the level up system of Frank West? I have no idea what it's for. He also drinks alcohol that looks like a buff, but makes you vomit after a few seconds. He looks like a trippy character though. His camera shot looks like it interrupts attacks.

Frank West vs Rocket Raccoon

The list of characters joining Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 is complete. What's left is waiting for its release a few weeks from now. Selling your vanilla copy to get your copy? I already sold mine, not  much of a sell though.

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 is out on November 15 for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

DC Universe Online going free to play very very soon

DC Universe Online Free to Play Sony Entertainment Online announced last month that DC Universe Online is going Free to Play for PC and PS3, now they reveal that this will take effect on November 1. If your planning to give DC Universe a chance, this is the perfect time and it's only a week away.

Free players will have access to Metropolis, Gotham, and all raid and alerts. There are restrictions though like inventory space, money limit etc, and must pay to get more space or certain features. If you already spend around $5 on your account, you will be upgraded to  a premium account that lessens certain restrictions. Legendary status is pretty much the same old $15 monthly payment that takes out all restrictions. For PS3 players, it's a good thing....sorta. Like myself, I'm stuck with DC Universe Online and cannot sell it. In order for me to make this PS3 title usable, I'll have to cough up 15 bucks. With the Free to Play model, at least it isn't a dead CD in my list of games. Having the option to play the game anytime is better than nothing.

This whole idea of going Free to Play is looking to be every MMO's last resort in order to stay alive. Not certain if DC Universe Online was in a bad state, but going Free to Play is a good indication, especially before announcing this change, they announced reducing servers to only four left.

Blizzcon 2011:Day One Announcements

Blizzcon 2011 Don't you love waking up to a pool of new information about your favorite Blizzard games? Blizzcon kicks off today and on the first day they revealed tons of new information for Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm, Diablo 3, yet another expansion for World of Warcraft, and more!

I didn't realize it was Blizzcon already. Time sure flies, hopefully it stays that way so that we can get Diablo 3 out the door. That game has been in my 'must buy list' for the longest time. Anyways enough of that, here's what Blizzard announced on the first day of Blizzcon 2011.

Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm preview trailer

Blizzard released a trailer giving us a glimpse of whats to come in Starcraft 2's first expansion. Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm is the Zerg campaign of Starcraft 2 and you play as Kerrigan who is now on a manhunt to take out Arcturus Mengsk. She lost most of her powers but obviously she has enough left to control a zerg army. Not only do we get a sneak peek at the campaign, we also see the new units for each race that will change the meta game of Starcraft multiplayer. Instead of giving you full details of each unit, here's a link giving you detailed information on the upcoming changes in multiplayer when Heart of the Swarm gets released. Thanks GamesRadar for providing detailed information of the new units for us gamers.

Diablo III Black Soulstone Cinematic Trailer

Blizzard cinematics have come a long way. The graphics in this new trailer are just amazing. The latest trailer sadly has no release date for Diablo 3 at the end but at least we get an idea on the story for Diablo 3. The woman in the trailer is named Leah, and is said to be the adopted daughter of Deckard Cain. Why is she alone with all those demonic creatures I have no idea. She will have a major role in Diablo 3 since Leah will be assisting the player as he/she progresses in the game.

Diablo 3 Collector's Edition revealed

A new trailer isn't the only news for Diablo 3 coming from this year's Blizzcon. Blizzard also reveals Diablo 3's Collector's Edition which will be released when they actually give us a damn date for the game. Click this link for a detailed information on what this Collector's Edition contains. If you ask me, this is a winner! hopefully it doesn't get overpriced, but it most likely will be since they did it when Starcraft 2 was released. Will you get it even though it costs like close to 3 new games?

There's one more bit of news for WoW players that's linked to Diablo 3 but I'll mention that in a bit. Next up is...

World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria preview trailer

No matter what people think of World of Warcraft, this game will keep going as long as there's internet.  World of Warcraft : Mists of Panadaria is the next expansion for one of the biggest MMORPG's out there. We had Cataclysm just last year but with how fast WoW players finish content, expansions are coming out faster now. It's only a matter of time when they finally release the final fight against Deathwing and complete the content of Cataclysm.

This new expansion will be adding and changing a lot in World of Warcraft. Here are the features of World of Warcraft's fourth expansion pack:

  • New Playable Race -- Pandaren: Adventure through Azeroth as World of Warcraft's first neutral race and decide whether to side with the Alliance or the Horde.
  • New Playable Class -- Monk: Unlock the secrets of pandaren martial arts and do battle as a damage dealer, healer, or tank.
  • Level Cap Increased to 90:Learn potent new spells and abilities while exploring uncharted zones and taking on challenging new content.
  • New Zones:Explore the lush Jade Forest, treacherous Kun-Lai Summit, and other exotic areas of Pandaria designed for high-level characters, and uncover the mystery of the Wandering Isle.
  • Scenarios: Join up with some friends to achieve a common goal, such as mounting a defense against invading monsters, in a flexible new type of PvE challenge.
  • Dungeon “Challenge” Modes: Master the ultimate five-player time trial to earn prestige rewards in a new dungeon mode that will put your resolve and coordination to the test.
  • Pet Battles: Challenge other players’ companion pets with your own collection in a new tactical mini-game, and find out who's king or queen of the pint-sized battlefield.
  • New Talent System: Customize your character to suit your play style with the newly overhauled and improved talent system.

Pet battles are going to be hilarious. From how their explaining it, it's literally Pokemon World of Pokemon. There will be masters(like gym leaders) to fight, three attacks for each pet, pets are tradable, and the gameplay will be turn-based. No demonstration yet, but with the number of pets and creatures/monster that could be implemented into this new system, there's going to be a huge variety if choices.

World of Warcraft Annual Pass

Get the Annual Pass and you get a 12 month subscription to World of Warcraft. If you actually do get this promo, YOU GET DIABLO 3 FOR FREE! sorry for the caps but damn that deal even shocked me. Aside from getting a free copy of a game that's not even out yet, you get a Tyrael Charger WoW Mount, and an instant spot at the beta test of the next expansion.  This is still not enough for me to get back into WoW, but it's a hell of a tempting offer. If interested, head over here to join the dark side.

Blizzard Dota Trailer

Last but not least, we have Blizzard's take on Icefrog's Dota. umm, with Dota 2 on the way thanks to Steam, is there enough to get excited for both? The game looks pretty similar as expected but I like the fact that their using actual Blizzard characters. It's like Blizzard's Smash Brother's, Dota style.

More to come.....I hope

It's only day one, we'll see if Blizzard has anything more up their sleeves. I'm still eager of hearing news from Blizzard's new MMO called Titan. They say it won't make an appearance or even an announcement. We'll see when Blizzcon 2011  closes.

If you want the full day one wrap of Blizzcon 2011, head over here to see the official wrap up coming from Blizzard. Let's see what Day two brings...

The Big Game List – Games to look out for this month and the next[Part2]

The Big Game List The list continues. Here's part two of the Bit Game list and I have just five more big titles worth mentioning that's coming out even before december.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - Playstation 3, Xbox 360, PC, Wii

Release Date: November 8, 2011

This is a no brainer really. The current champ in the FPS genre, Call of Duty now releases a new game every year which makes each game getting overshadowed just after a year. The Call of Duty series has always been a fun one, even before they implemented their monster competitive multiplayer which started with the first Modern Warfare. This series is all about multiplayer now and is more for people who prefer a faster pace in gameplay. The multiplayer can either be very addicting or very frustrating if you can't keep your cool against the guy with 40-2 owning you with a helicopter killstreak.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will bring back Spec Ops which now has a survival mode. Survive waves of enemies with a buddy. Kill them for money, then use that money to buy ammo, new guns, weapon upgrades, and air support. Sounds familiar? yea, it's similar to Gears of War's Horde Mode if you ask me.

Should we consider it? - If you want an addicting multiplayer, then yes definitely. The single player story should prove interesting since it's the start of World War III and they just might finally conclude the search for Makarov (I hope). If you loved the last two games Activision released, then this should be a day one buy. To those who got turned off thanks to the removal of dedicated servers, their bringing it back for PC. A win for PC gamers. Modern Warfare 3 has been quite since the reveal of their multiplayer trailer. My guess is, their waiting out the hype of Battlefield 3, then after it's out, flood us with content to get hyped and hopefully forget about Battlefield 3.  So look out for more gameplay footage of this beast of a game.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Playstation 3, Xbox 360, PC

Release Date: November 11, 2011

If Dark Souls isn't your kind of RPG, I'm positive Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will do. We've been asking for a new one for years, but now it's only a month away. With a new game engine and a world just as big as Oblivion, this game will consume us until next year at least. Like games such as Fallout 3 and Oblivion, the fun comes from exploring dungeons, side quests, or pretty much anything you want. You can focus on just the main story but with how vast the world will be, you'll be eager to explore and wander off on your own.

Elder Scrolls has always been an RPG in a First Person perspective, and with one button covering each hand, there will be tons of play styles to choose from. It's said to have a total of 100+ hours of content. If it's true then damn, I'm honestly sold with just 60+ hours. Only japanese RPG's provide that much game time.

Should we consider it? - If your interested in RPG games then definitely. Elder Scrolls is one of the best western RPG's out there and with Bethesda building this game from the ground up, it will not disappoint. With the tons of hours you can invest in just one play through, it will be worth the purchase. I suggest buying this game on the PC though if it can handle Skyrim. Just like past bethesda games, they will be releasing the mod kit, which means players can make changes in the game that will most likely make it a better game. When you get your copy of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, get ready - your family might just see you next year.

Zelda: Skyward Sword

Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - Wii

Release Date: November 20, 2011

The Nintendo Wii's latest flagship title, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. The Wii this year hasn't been releasing that many games, actually can't remember a good title coming out of the Wii in the first half of this year. That's why it's good that a new Zelda is coming out this year so we can blow the dust out of the Wii. If your familiar with  past Zelda games then you know what Skyward Sword is going to bring.

This Zelda game is going all out with the Wii's motion controller though.  Maximizing the Wii Motion Plus peripheral, the angle on how you attack with you're in game sword is based on how you swing your controller. Enemies of Skyward Sword have certain openings in their defenses that can be hit by swinging your controller on a specific angle. Just like in any Zelda game, there will be tons of gadgets to use as you progress through the game. With the number of side quests available, they say the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword can clock around 50-100 hours.

Should we consider it? - I consider any Zelda game worth a buy, and frankly If you own a Wii, I'm sure your itching for a new Wii title. What's amazing about the Zelda franchise is that each Zelda always brings something unique or different each time. From the ability to go from young Link to old Link in Ocarina of Time to the amazing art in Wind Walker. The same old formula we love but with a new twist. For Skyward Sword, it's the heavy use of the Wii Motion Plus in sword fighting and gadget use. Wii owners shouldn't miss this title since I can't see anything big coming for the Wii in 2012. This might be Wii's last hurrah since Nintendo is hard at work on making Wii U the console to get next year.

Assassin's Creed Revelations Assassin's Creed: Revelations - Playstation 3, Xbox 360, PC

Release Date: November 15, 2011

Yet another game that comes out every year for some reason. Assassin's Creed: Revelations is the next chapter in the Assassin's Creed series. Desmond Miles goes back to relive  Ezio Auditore da Firenze(Assassin's Creed 2 and Brotherhood) final chapters. The games first protagonist, Altaïr ibn La-Ahad will be in Revelations. Question is, if he's playable. If you played Asssassin's Creed 2 or brotherhood then you know whats coming. Core gameplay hasn't changed but hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. An open world with you blending with the crowd to silently take down your target without anybody noticing you, that's Assassin's Creed. Well that and the crazy conspiracies with the templars, the Animus, and everything happening in Desmond's world.

Multiplayer was first introduced in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and will have a similar concept in Revelations. I've tried the Revelations multiplayer beta and it was to keep your mind off the main story line. Will I be playing it over and over? doubt it, but some of you might have a blast with it. Assassin's Creed is all about the free roam single player anyways, multiplayer is added to keep the franchise as a full package.

Should we consider it? - Aren't you dying to whats going to happen next, or what they'll uncover next? that's the problem really. Fans of the series will love the next installment but there are some gamers out there that haven't picked up even the first game. The game tried to keep it less confusing for the new gamers but this series is a direct sequel to each other and is best played from the first game to get updated with the story. It might come out confusing. If you're not interested in the story and just want some Assassin fun, by all means. The stealth gameplay is still solid and the game is another free roam game with lots of things to do. When you do like this game, might be a good idea to check out the past games.

Dr. Strange vs Nemesis

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 - Playstation 3, Xbox 360

Release Date: November 15, 2011

Some of you might be going, damn it! I'll have to buy it again. True, Marvel vs Capcom 3 came out a couple of months back, then they dump this on us. With twelve new characters being added to the current 36 roster, this standalone title will be priced on a lower price similar to when they released Super Street Fighter 4. Now as much people hate the fact that an expansion is made into a standalone title, when you start playing the updated Marvel vs Capcom 3, you'll be reminded on how fun this game is for fighting game gamers. When I heard about the release of Ultimate, I sold my copy of the vanilla version right away to get some money back. Sadly, the value of vanilla was already in effect thanks to this expansion. Oh well.

Balance changes is also being done at the same time old characters are getting new or improved skills for us to play around with. They also announced a new mode called Heroes and Heralds, a mode to play as galactus(what?), and an improved online system with actual spectator mode. No more card grinding thank god.

Should we consider it? - Depends. If your happy with what the vanilla has, and not interested in buying it twice then no. Fans of the series will definitely get this. If you think your library of games are lacking great fighting games, then this would be a good choice. It's definitely fun to play with friends and use your favorite Marvel or Capcom characters to own your friends. The price will come out reasonable, but for some who actually bought the vanilla, it's still you buying the game again.

That's it. What games are you planning to buy in the next few month? Skyrim? Battleflield 3? or a game not even mentioned above?

Portal 2 DLC coming out next week for free

Portal 2 coop For free? I know, that's pretty rare especially when its DLC(Downloadable Content). It's not those useless free DLC that gives extra clothing for your character or an item that will most likely be useless in the next few hours, this is actual content that Valve wants to give for free. Thanks Valve.

The DLC called "Peer Review" will be out on Wednesday next week or Thursday for gamers in Asia. It was announced in Portal 2's official blog. The post is mainly about the game's soundtrack, and after 2 paragraphs about it they mention the new DLC coming out soon and for free. It will include new test chambers, leaderboards, plus single player and multiplayer challenges. How many extra test chambers or challenges? They didn't say, but content is content, especially when its free.

Got Portal 2 on my PC, so I guess I'll be playing it again next week.
