Weekend, what are you playing?

Well E3 is over and what a show it was. Lots of awesome and bizarre announcements. But anyway, it's the weekend after E3, what are you playing?

Migoy: Been spending some time killing waves of dudes in Sengoku Basara Samurai Heroes, some of the attakcs in that game is just insane like shooting a ball of lightning from a samurai sword or holding 3 of those samurai swords in 1 hand like Wolverine claws. I played some Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers last night. That game looks really good but I wished it played better. Its like all the production went into the graphics and presentation but not enough went into the gameplay.

Arlie: So I got the platinum trophy for inFAMOUS yesterday, and it took me about 2 hours to find the last blast shard (still much easier than finding 200 pigeons in GTA IV, cos Niko can't climb shit). I don't think I will play inFAMOUS 2 anytime soon (unless someone would lend me a copy). There was a major update for Gran Turismo 5 the other day, it includes a save feature in between championship races (nope, you still can't save during an endurance race), Racing Gear items were added so you can choose a helmet and racing suit for your A-spec and B-spec drivers and make them strike a pose for a profile picture. There is also a new bonus track by Daiki Kasho entitled "Day to Live" which is unlocked as a BGM after the first ending movie. Also for a limited time, Online Dealership cars are offered at 0 mileage and half the price (maybe as a bonus after the PSN Outage). Me and my friends played Gran Turismo 5 online since Friday, and invited them to play again later. Feel free to add me on PSN and join us in my GT5 Lounge.

PSN: arcanefiragaI still hope they make the Bugatti Veyron a premium car.

Quash: This weekend i revisited some old RPG games in my collection. Started playing Fallout: New Vegas again to get all the side quests done. Playing it again is making me want to grab the DLC's currently out. I also started Borderlands again with some friends. It's one of the those games that you just go back for another playthrough. We have all the DLC's for the game so we have a lot of content to cover. I also just purchased the Arcade Edition for Super Street Fighter 4 and went to the lab to learn the twins. so far, they are just instantly Top tier characters. Their trippy to learn and so far i prefer Yang. Yun is definitely a stronger character but i prefer Yang's play style.

Sengoku Basara Samurai Heroes (Wii) Impressions

I finally got a copy of Sengoku Basara Samurai Heroes. Now I'm not really a fan of 'Dynasty Warrior'-esque games but I like characters from Sengoku Basara so I've been wanting to try this game for a while now.

First off, graphics. I think the graphics for this game looks really good on the Wii. It's smooth and flashy while having so many enemy units on screen at the same time. Sure most of the enemies are a bunch of block heads but still, it's quite an impressive sight.

Gameplay wise I'm surprised that I'm actually enjoying the gameplay. Sure most of it is spent on taking out 700 enemy units who essentailly do nothing but the boss fight at the end of every level is pretty rewarding. What I guess makes me really enjoy the gameplay is how insane some of the attacks these characters get. I started using this dude who fights with his fists. He learned an attack that lets him do a few weaving punches that slowly elevates opponents in midair then suddenly throwing rapid punches, punches you'd see from like Dragon Ball or something. After the final blow, which is an uppercut, I can then catch them with a punch that cuts through the air creating shockwaves.

This game gives you a sense of power which I didn't feel in older Dynasty warriors, Samurai Warriors or even the Dynasty Warrios Gundam Games. I'll keep playing this game but maybe all this crazyness will get old. We'll see. I fought off some big ass white tigers. And did I mention that there is barely any waggle involved?

E3 2011: Kirby Wii

Remember that Kirby "non-epic yarn" post I made back in January showing brief gameplay footage of what looked to be a REAL Kirby game on the Wii?

We finally get a trailer for it and oh man is this the Kirby game I have been waiting for. The pink marshmallow is back with out the yarn. Super sucking, swallowing (twss) and power copying is back like it should be. What looks to be new powers and amped up versions of older powers are included.

You know what the best part is? 4 player co-op! Now stop reading this and just watch the damn video and bathe in its awesome.

Nintendo stock down 5% after Wii U reveal

Hahahahahahahaha!

From Joystiq:

While our feelings were ... oh, let's be nice and say "mixed" on Nintendo's just-announced Wii U traders on the Tokyo Stock Exchange were pretty much clear about their distaste. Nintendo stock closed down five percent yesterday after the company's E3 keynote, settling at 16,970 yen ($212.44) -- a low the company hasn't seen since before the launch of the original Wii.It's not good news for Big N, but we're talking about a company that's made its fortunes on seeing opportunities where others don't. And hey, look at it this way, Nintendo: History has proven we'll eventually drop our defenses, conquer our trepidation and buy one anyway. So you've got us.
