E3 2018: Microsoft Conference Recap
/Microsoft's conference at E3 2018 was focused on nothing but the games. As it should be, and they had a good lineup this year.
Halo Infinite Announced
A quick footage of a game called Halo Infinite. All we know is you play as Master Chief and that the small tease that started the show was running on the Slipspace Engine, which developer 343 Industries are using for the Halo Franchise moving forward.
Ori: Will of the Wisps
A stunning gameplay trailer was shown and reminds us that we'll have to wait until 2019 to get our hands on it.
Sekiro Shadows Die Twice
From Software just revealed their new title called Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, moving away from the Dark Souls series. It looks to be set in Ancient Japan, and there's a lot of sword fighting, with the main protagonist equipped with what seems to be a prosthetic arm of sorts. More details will come soon.
Fallout 76
Todd Howard shows up. Fallout 76 is a prequel to all games. They drop a new trailer showing gameplay footage and confirms the game's location - Set in West Virginia. More details are planned during Bethesda's conference later.
The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit
Set in the world of Life is Strange. The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit embraces a child's imagination. It will be FREE for all on June 26 on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
Crackdown 3
Gameplay trailer featuring Tery Crews. Crackdown 3 was delayed yet again and is now set for a February release in 2019.
Nier: Automata Xbox Edition
Nier: Automa confirmed for Xbox One and it's called the Become As Gods edition, planned for release on June 26 with all post content DLC.
Metro: Exodus
Metro: Exodus gets a new gameplay trailer and finally gets a release date - February 22, 2019.
Kingdom Hearts 3
We get a glimpse of the world of Frozen coming to Kingdom Hearts in the latest trailer.
Sea of Thieves Update
Forsaken Shores, a new location to explore and pillage. Planned for September, before their other content update called Cursed Sail, which is planned for release in July.
Battlefield V
A really quick glimpse of the game's campaign mode called War Stories, which is similar to how Battlefield 1's campaign was presented. Different stories from various perspectives.
Forza Horizon 4
Forza Horizon 4 announced and continues the open-world aspect of the series, showing off the games dynamic weather that changes the gameplay environment based on the season. It will be available on October 2 for Xbox One and PC.
New Studios Acquired by Microsoft
Phil Spencer announced various studios joining Microsoft's first-party studio lineup in Microsoft Studios. The Initiative is a new studio and we have yet to hear about the project they are working on. They also announce the inclusion of Undead Labs (State of Decay), Playground Games (Forza), Ninja Theory (Hellblade) and Compulsion Games (We Happy Few)

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds
A new trailer was released featuring the various new maps available for the battle royale game and new game modes to mix things up a bit. In the end, it seemed that they teased what's to come during the Winter 2018 update.
Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition
Tales of Vesperia is getting a remastered treatment with Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition and is planned for a Winter 2018 release.
The Division 2
First gameplay footage was revealed in the main stage and was presented in the usual Ubisoft fashion. More details about the sequel is planned in Ubisoft's conference later this week.
Xbox Game Pass
Xbox Game Pass, which people are calling the Netflix of video games, will be getting new games such as The Division, Elder Scrolls Olnine: Tamriel Unlimited, and Fallout 4 in their library right now. They also mentioned a new feature called FastStart, which streams your games faster and it will be included in the upcoming June update.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider
A new gameplay trailer focusing on the game's story gameplay trailer. Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be out on September 14.
Session. Announced
A new skateboard game was announced and based on the description from Xbox, it's "Heavily inspired by the golden era and skate culture of the late 90s/early 2000s, Project: Session is all about authenticity and creativity".
Black Desert
A new gameplay trailer reminding us all that Black Desert, the fast-paced MMORPG is coming to Xbox One.
Devil May Cry 5 Announced
A new Devil May Cry game is coming and it's called Devil May Cry 5. It's currently set for a Spring 2019 release and based on the first trailer above, we have Nero and Dante coming back.
Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course
More content is coming for Cuphead with the announcement of The Delicious Last Course. A new playable character, new bosses, weapons and is planned for a 2019 release.
Tunic Announced
A gorgeous game about a Fox's adventure and gives that old school Zelda gameplay feel. Tunic is made by a one-man team - Andrew Shouldicebased in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Jump Force Announced
Coming from Bandai Namco, Jump Force is what happens when you pit the most known anime fighters such as Naruto, Goku, and more against one another.
Dying Light 2 Announced
Techland was a big surprise, considering that they are still supporting the first game with new content. We got a gameplay trailer during the presentation and the sequel puts a lot of weight to player choice, which affects gameplay and the game's open world from visuals and how NPCs will react.
Battletoads
We are getting a new Battletoads game in 2019. Not many details aside from it having 3-player couch co-op ad 4K support.
Just Cause 4
Just Cause 4 is official and Avalanche Studio is bringing you the 4th title to the crazy Just Cause franchise this year, December 4 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Gears Pop
Coming in 2019, this is a cute take on the Gears of War franchise for the mobile platform.
Gears Tactics Announced
A turn-based strategy game that looks similar to XCOM. No details and it was a brief reveal before they transitioned to the big one...
Gears of War 5 Announced
Kait is now in the forefront for Gears of War 5 and leads a more personal adventure, leaving JD, Dom and the rest of the crew. Gears 5 is slated for 2019 release
Cyberpunk 2077
Microsoft almost ends the show again with Gears but was halted by the reintroduction of CD Projekt RED's upcoming RPG, Cyberpunk 2077 with a new trailer. There are not many details on the big RPG right now but here's the description from the developers:
"Cyberpunk 2077 is a narrative-driven, open world RPG set in the most vibrant and dangerous metropolis of the future — Night City. You play as V, a hired gun on the rise, who just got their first serious contract. In a world of cyberenhanced street warriors, tech-savvy netrunners and corporate life-hackers, today is your first step to becoming an urban legend."
Capcom also revealed that Devil May Cry 5 will feature three playable characters. It’s anyone’s guess as to who those might be, but safe bets are on Dante and Vergil.
