Ubisoft Shares Year 5 Roadmap for the Division 2, Details for Heartland, and Teases Resurgence
/Ubisoft recently celebrated the seven-year anniversary of Tom Clancy's The Division franchise by sharing what to expect from the series in the near future. During the Division Day stream, Ubisoft unveiled more details about three games in The Division universe, including Tom Clancy's The Division 2, Tom Clancy's The Division Heartland, and Tom Clancy's The Division Resurgence.
Tom Clancy's The Division 2: Year 5
Ubisoft announced that The Division 2's Year 5 will kick off in June. The new season, Broken Wings, will feature a new twist on Manhunts and introduce a new game mode called Descent. This rogue-lite mode will be free for all The Division 2 players when Year 5 goes live. A public test service has been live since April 21, allowing the Division 2 community to try out the new content before it goes live, especially the new game mode. They also revealed that from April 25 to May 9, Resident Evil's Leon Kennedy RPD outfit will be available to all players who log in during that time.
Broken Wings will also see the continuation of a multi-season rebuild of the Castle Settlement that will bring the devastated landmark back to life with a renewed purpose. Season One: Broken Wings will feature a premium pass where players can unlock pieces of a Splinter Cell-themed outfit.
Ubisoft also teased future seasons planned for Year 5:
Season 2: Puppeteers: A challenging new Incursion will take Agents on a venture out to the Meret Estate for another confrontation with the Cleaners.
Season 3: Vanguard: Agents will go back to New York City for the holidays and discover new revelations about Aaron Keener and his Rogues.
Season 4: Black Diamond: New story DLC will be available
Each season in Year 5 will introduce new Manhunts, Leagues, and Events. However, players must own The Division 2's Warlords of New York expansion to access all the new content aside from Descent mode.
Tom Clancy's The Division Heartland
Ubisoft provided more gameplay details about Tom Clancy's The Division Heartland during the stream. Heartland takes players to Silver Creek, once a pleasant town in the American Midwest, left in ruins following the spread of the Dollar Flu. Silver Creek's Base of Operations is a shared space in The Division Heartland, a first for The Division.
Each session begins and ends in the Base of Operations, and each time players exfiltrate, they will take back materials and gear. This is the series’ take on the extraction shooter sub-genre as being taken down results in you losing everything in your character. Before each session, they can select between three Classes: Weapons Expert, Medic, and Survivalist. Each Class brings a unique ability, and in a squad, each truly shines when complemented by the others. During the daytime, players will scavenge for supplies as well as prepare to survive the night. At night, Silver Creek becomes much more tenuous, with PvEvP gameplay forcing players to think quickly and potentially work together to make it out alive with their loot intact.
Ubisoft is taking a test-and-learn approach to building this game, continually conducting test phases and gathering player feedback before moving on to the next phase. There’s no release date given by Ubisoft so far but players can sign up for the next closed beta as those who get invited will get to invite five of their friends to test the game.
Tom Clancy's The Division Resurgence
Ubisoft also teased more of Tom Clancy's The Division Resurgence during the stream, the first mobile title for the franchise. The next phase of testing for The Division Resurgence will be coming this summer in select territories, and this time iOS players can take part in the future test.
Tom Clancy’s The Division continues to be a vital series for Ubisoft with more substantial support for their mainline title The Division 2, a separate free-to-play experience in The Division Heartland, and the normal The Division RPG shooter experience ported to the mobile platform in The Division Resurgence.

Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
