The New Nintendo 2DS XL Looks Great, Comes Out This July

The new Nintendo 2DS XL has a lot going for it - NFC support for Amiibo, supports new 3DS games, a similar clamshell fold design, and lighter than it's 3DS XL brother.

The 2DS had a simple design at a reasonable price. If you didn't care about the 3D functionality(seriously, did anyone?) it was the preferred choice. It was also easy to bring around but lacked the fold design to protect both screens. on the other side, we have the New Nintendo 3DS XL, which has c-stick support and the extra shoulder buttons plus the larger screen, which is greatly appreciated. Now, we simply get the best of both designs.

The 3DS system has a library of over 1,000 games and three more will release together with the new Nintendo 2DS XL. Hey Pikmin is a new 2D series entry that will have touch-screen controls required to defeat enemies and solve puzzles. Miitopia is a new game using Mii's from Mitomo and Tomodachi Life and has a weird setting of defeating a dark lord of some sorts. Lastly, we have Dr. Kawashima's Devlishing Brain Training. Uh, well, it's another interesting entry.

The Nintendo 2DS XL launches on July 28 in Europe and North America. It will go for only $150, which is $50 less than the New 3DS XL. It will come in both black/turquoise and white/orange color.
