Behaviour Interactive revealed the latest killer heading to Dead by Daylight and he’s a a K-pop star called the Trickster that throws a flurry of knives to down his victims. We also get a new survivor named Yun-Jin Lee, who apparently is the music producer of the famed star. Both characters are now available for testing in the game’s Public Test Build.

Based on his lore, The Trickster is Ji-Woon, a K-pop star that was part of the boy band group NO SPIN. The star didn’t mesh well with the new members in the group and when a fire broke out in their studio he left the rest of his band to die. His stardom eventually faded and found thrill in killing. His weapon of choice - throwing knives.

And he carries a lot of them, actually, as the Trickster can unless a flurry of them in quick succession. If a set amount of knives hit a healthy survivor, it will bring the player to the injured state or bring the player down to the dying state of he was already injured in the first place. He’s similar to the killer The Huntress as he will need to head to a locker to reload himself with knives.

For the new survivor joining Dead by Daylight, her name is Yun-Jin Lee, who apparently recruited Ji-Woon into the boy band NO SPIN. We’ll likely know more about the two characters and their relationship once they are formally introduced and added to the live servers of the game.

The perks they add to the table are pretty interesting, which could potentially change the meta of the game. The most notable ones coming from this chapter are Hex: Crowd Control for the killers and Smash Hit for the survivors.

Hex: Crowd Control is interesting simply because it’s a hex that blocks windows the moment survivors vault through it. Players have tested and you have a survivor block multiple windows, even the ones close to each other, possibly ruining the typical loop survivors use to survive a killer chasing them. Just like any Hex perk, all you need to do is find the glowing totem to disable the effect, but thanks to recent perks added to the game, there are now ways to prolong the effect.

For Survivors, the Smash Hit perk is something to look into as it’s an exhaustion perk that gives you a boost of speed the moment you pallet stun a killer. A great alternative if you wanna change up your go-to exhaustion perks used to gain distance between a killer player.

Behaviour Interactive has yet to reveal when the next chapter for Dead by Daylight will officially launch, but for now you can help test out the new content by joining the PTB.
