Dead Island 2 Was Served Another Delay, Will Now Launch Late April 2023
/The long-awaited open world zombie game Dead Island 2 has received another delay as it’s now set to launch on April 28, 2023. It was originally set to launch on February 3.
The reason? Developer Dambuster Studios simply needs more time to work on the game.
Here is the full message of the new delay:
“We have some important news to share, so let’s rip that band aid off straight away. We are delaying Dead Island 2 - the new release date will be April 28, 2023.
“The Irony of delaying Dead Island 2 is not lost on us, and we are disappointed as you undoubtedly are. The delay is just 12 short weeks and development is on the final straight now; we’re going to take the time we need to make sure we can launch a game we’re proud to launch. For those of you who’ve been waiting for years, thank you for hanging in there with us.”
A new gameplay trailer for Dead Island 2 is set to debut on December 6 through the game’s official Twitch and Youtube channels.
Dead Island 2 was first revealed way back in 2014 at E3 and since then have went through development hell with constant delays and studios taking over the project entirely. This year was the reintroduction of the sequel and was all set for release but it looks like another delay is needed to bring the project out the door in a proper state.
Dead Island 2 is set to launch on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
I recently had the chance to play an early build of Two Point Museum, the latest simulator from the developers of Two Point Campus and Two Point Hospital. With three levels available during my limited playtime, I got a taste of how this quirky formula evolves in its newest iteration, set to launch on February 27, 2025.
