Diablo 4’s Fifth and Final Class Is the Necromancer

Blizzard’s Diablo 4 makes an appearance in a big way in the 2022 Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase by not only revealing the fifth and final class the Necromancer, but showing new gameplay highlighting their open world approach in this action RPG.

The Necromancer completes the set, joining already announced classes the Barbarian, Sorceress, Druid, and Rogue.

Blizzard then goes into detail the scope of the game as Diablo 4 is going to be an open world game where players can interact with other players for either PVE events or engage in PVP specific areas in the world. They also describe an activity called Stronghold that if a player liberates and beats the boss that resides in the area, that Stronghold will convert to a town hub.

Developers also expressed how customizable this game will be compared to previous titles as players can make any kind of character that the type of armor you wear isn’t the only one that will distinguish you from other players.

Blizzard then confirms that cross-play and cross-progression across PC and consoles will be available, and that the game will also feature couch co-op.

Diablo 4 is set for release sometime in 2023. This is one of the very few games not confirmed for Xbox Game Pass so far. Overwatch 2 was also not confirmed for the service, when it appeared in the Xbox showcase to announce the multiplayer release date and the hero shooter sequel going free to play.
