Muro Studios announced a 2D action metroidvania game called Doomblade during The Escapist Indie Showcase 2021 and revealed its first trailer, giving us a good look at the game in action.

A creature named Gloom Girl - who apparently is the last of the Gloomfolk - discovers a sentient weapon called Doomblade who is hellbent on getting his revenge on The Dread Lords, the ones who trapped the blade deep in the underworld. She sets the weapon free and teams up to embark on a journey through the Lowlands to regain what Doomblade has lost.

As you go from one area to the next, the pair will encounter various statuses that hold one of the many powers of Doomblade, which gives the player more options in traversing the world.

Doomblade seems to play similar to Muro Studios’ Shadow Bug series as it too is a metroidvania style action platformer where you play as a ninja shadow bug.
Doomblade will be coming to PC sometime in 2022. There is no exact date given but you can wishlist the game on Steam right now if the first look is enough to keep tabs on it.
