Final Fantasy XIV Online Endwalker Expansion Coming In November
/Over the weekend, fans of MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV Online was blessed with the Final Fantasy XIV Fanfest, an annual event that celebrates all aspects of the game, and is where the developers make big announcements regarding the game. This year was digital due to obvious reasons and focused on the upcoming expansion Endwalker that will launch on November 23, 2021.
The release date wasn’t the only information revealed at the event as the Square Enix devs also revealed in details all that we can expect once the new expansion goes live in November.
Here’s a quick rundown of what to expect from the Endwalker expansion.
New Job: Reaper
A new sythe-wielding melee DPS who call for the aid of an avatar from the void. The job looks fun to play and rather stylish on how the Reaper utilizes their preferred weapon.
New Playable Race: Male Viera
Never knew why the male Viera wasn’t included when females were added during the Shadowbringers expansion but here we are. Does that mean we might get female Hrothgar in the future?
New City: Old Sharlayan
This will search as the new massive player hub for the Endwalker expansion.
Travel to Expansive New Areas: Labyrinthos and Mare Lamentorum
New Tribes to Encounter: Loporrits
New Threats to Overcome: The Magus Sisters
Just like previous Final Fantasy XIV content, the devs likes adding in familiar Final Fantasy characters and foes and this time players will get to face the Magus Sisters, the dangerous trio that first appeared in Final Fantasy IV.
New Alliance Raid Series: “Myths of the Realm”
The new alliance Raid series for Endwalker will focus heavily on Final Fantasy XIV Online lore this time and is an original piece of content for the MMORPG. Recent alliance raids were inspired by previous Final Fantasy titles and was a cross between another game. The Shadowbringers expansion had a NieR themed alliance raid while Stormblood had a raid that’s mixed in Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy XII characters and lore.
A New Data Center: Oceania
This is good news as many hoped more Data Centers will be released to covers regions and it looks like the new Oceania Data Center will be a solid option for Australia and New Zealand players.
Final Fantasy XIV Online officially launches on the PS5 next week
During the event, Devs also revealed that the PS5 version of Final Fantasy XIV will officially launch on May 25. Though you can play the MMORPG right now on your PS5, that version is still treated as the open beta version. Not much will change if you’re enjoying the game right now on console as it’s them making it official.
