Bungie has officially revealed Destiny 2’s Season of the Splicer roadmap, detailing all the events and content that will be released during the upcoming season that will run from May 11 all the way to August 24.

Season of the Splicer is Season 14 for Destiny 2 and the narrative this time is focused on how the Vex placed Earth into an endless night. This storyline kicks off the moment you launch Destiny 2 on May 11 with an introduction quest, similar to how previous seasons begins.

Based on the calendar content shown below, the start of the season will feature not only new story content but the armor synthesis system, which is pretty much Bungie’s version of transmog, allowing you to freely change the appearance of your gear. We will then have new Stasis aspect quests for those that have the Destiny 2: Beyond Light expansion, and the first new 6-man pve activity called Override which is set in Europa. Think of this activity as Season 14’s version of Battlegrounds, an activity introduced during Season of the Chosen.

This season will feature 3 Override maps in total, with the first one available at launch, the second coming out the week after, and the third a week after that. There will also be a weekly pinnacle mission to tackle starting May 25 with the last mission available by June 29.

The next raid coming to Destiny 2 will be the retouch of the first raid in the franchise’s history - the Vault of Glass. Originally a raid in the first Destiny game, this piece of content’s concept and story remains the same but with a few tweaks to modernize it for Destiny 2. The race to see who will get the world first on Vault of Glass begins on May 22 with raid challenges for it coming on June 15.

Events will fill the gaps for this season as Trials of Osiris will begin on May 14 followed by Iron Banner and the Solstice of Heroes event going live on July 6. Solstice and Iron Banner wraps up on August 3, just in time to give way for the epilogue, which will wrap up Season of the Splicer’s storyline.

The “and more…” part in the roadmap is still unknown but expect more to fill in the gaps to keep players busy before Season 15 rolls out.

For those unfamiliar with Destiny 2, it’s an FPS looter shooter that’s free-to-play a large amount of the game’s content. Expansions are released to add more to the game such as new missions and class abilities, while the season content detailed above will mostly be available to all players regardless of what expansions you own.

Bungie has recently released impressive content for it’s live service game as it seems they have found a good formula to deliver an entertaining narrative during a season’s lifespan while delivering a decent gameplay loop to keep players itching to go online . The current season, Season of the Chosen, is one of my favorite seasons thus far as we get hidden gems like the Presage mission added somewhat halfway through the season.

Destiny 2 is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
