NieR Automata's Final Secret Discovered - Skipping to the End Credits After Defeating the First Boss
/ Miguel MendozaNearly 4 years after its release, NieR: Automata has riled up the world once more after a newly discovered secret has been unearthed. The cheat let's you skips to the final credits sequence of the game after defeating the first boss in the prologue.
Tweeted by Lance McDonald (@manfightdragon), Lance confirms that this isn't a bug and that the cheat is hard-coded into the game. The tweet was then later confirmed by series director Yoko Taro with a simple reply saying "3 years 10 months." implying that it took that long to be discovered since the game's release back in February 23, 2017.
Performing the cheat brings the player all the way to the beginning sequence that leads to the game's final story segment of Ending E which will also unlock all of the extra features such as chapter select, the debug room and the trophy shop. It will even prompt the player if they would like to delete or keep their save file, to which I won't go into further detail about what that entails.
The cheat can only be done in the game's prologue after defeating the first boss called Marx, a giant mechanical arm that uses digging tools like a giant chainsaw. Once you beat Marx, 2B must be standing between 2 sets of barrels found in the same arena. Enter the code here and the game screen will fade to black, loading in the opening dialogue to Ending E.
The code itself is simple enough and is actually the same cheat input from Bayonetta 2 to purchase powerful accessories. The cheat also traces out the signature logo of Platinum Games' P and Star icons which is a neat touch. Despite this cheat being discovered and made known to the world, I'd still highly recommend that you check out NieR: Automata if you have yet to do so as it's one of my favorite games from the last console generation.

Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
