July of 2020 marks the 10th anniversary of the launch of PlayStation Plus on the PS3, which was later offered for PS4 players when the console was released. To celebrate a decade of service, Sony is giving Rise of the Tomb Raider, NBA 2k20, and Erica for free to all PS Plus subscribers.
Rise of the Tomb Raider is the second game in the Tomb Raider reboot trilogy and was once a timed-exclusive title for the Xbox One. It eventually arrived on the PS4 packed with additional content during the 20th Anniversary Celebration of the Tomb Raider franchise. Rise of the Tomb Raider takes place in snowy Siberia and is more well-versed in these dangerous hunt for lost treasure.
NBA 2K20 is the latest entry in the annual basketball series and remains the best title out there for those looking for the best basketball experience in a video game. Just like previous years, it’s equipped with the latest teams and rosters in the NBA with various game modes to let players relive specific match ups from the past or simply make their own version of teams and rosters.
The bonus game Erica is a good addition as it utilizes Sony’s PlayLink feature, which allows players to control games using their smartphone devices. It’s a narrative-driven adventure game that will pull you in with it’s mysterious world and how it was presented. It’s a game worth trying out if storytelling is an important factor for you.
All three games will be available to download for free on July 7, 2020 and will last until August 3, 2020.
If you haven’t picked up the free PS Plus PS4 games for June, you still have a chance as it will still be offered for free until July 6, 2020.
To further celebrate the PlayStation Plus’ 10 anniversary, Sony is also releasing a free theme on the PS Store later this week plus a free online multiplayer weekend for player not yet subscribed to the service on July 4 and it will last until July 5.
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii reuses the Infinite Wealth setting that still feels fresh and exciting for many and is packed with an absurd pirate theme that reminds us that the Yakuza series can go anywhere it wants and still find ways to entertain. Over 10 hours in, Pirate Yakuza is already showing that RGG can still give reason to invest time on their spinoff projects.
Developer Relic Entertainment is working on a turn-based strategy game called Earth vs Mars, which by its name pits Earth’s defenses against an alien invasion. It’s set to launch on Steam this Summer and is the first game from the studio's Relic Labs program.

Even with a few fumbles on the game’s online netcode and matchmaking, Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. still delivers an excellent fighting game for newcomers and Virtua Fighter fans alike. And with this being an online-focused endeavor, it can only get better through patch updates.

A couple of weeks after the launch of anime extraction shooter Synduality: Echo of Ada, Bandai Namco and developer Game Studio revealed that the game’s season 1 update will include a new map called East Amasia, new Requests (quests), gear, and more.
Synduality Echo of Ada has potential, but its flawed economy, tedious grind, and lack of meaningful story incentives make it hard to recommend in its current state. Without drastic improvements, it risks being forgotten before it ever finds a steady audience.
Sony will no longer require PC players to sign up for a PSN account to play any of Sony’s games when they become available on PC. Moving forward, the incentive for having a PSN will be in the form of in-game rewards.
