Rainbow Six: Siege's Next Season Is Called Operation Steel Wave
/ Carlos HernandezUbisoft has revealed Rainbow Six: Siege’s next season for Year 4 and it’s called Steel Wave, and we have details of the two new operators, added changes to the game as well as a rework of the classic map House.
The two new operators joining siege are the Norwegian Attacker Ace and the South African Defender Mulesi. Ace is equipped to give more breaching options for the attacking team as he’s equippped with S.E.L.M.A., a throwable stickable device that slowly destroys up to 3 panels, reinforced or not, one after another.
For newcomer Mulesi on the defense side, she’s equipped with the Banshee deployable gadget. The gadget can slow the movement of incoming attackers near the device and emits a noticeable sound when it’s slowing down enemies, giving Mulesi and his teammates viable information on the whereabouts of the attackers. She’s also a 3 speed defender, which make her a potential roamer.
The classic House map was reimagined with various expansion that make it a bigger space to breach or defend. Also added into Operation Steel Wave is the inclusion of a new gadget available for select Defenders and it;’s called a Proximity Alarm. This new gadget emits a loud sound when Attackers go near it, giving Defenders key information about their location.
We are also getting a buff to Amaru’s grappling hook gadget. Not only does her breach through walls are more faster and reactive, Amaru players can now use the grappling hook to breach hatches from above, giving her gadget more use when already inside buildings.
Operation Steel Wave went live on Rainbow Six: Siege’s Test Server today, May 19, so players eager to check out the new content coming to Siege can hope on to the server now before they implement the next season to live servers.
