Ubisoft announces Project Q, a team-based battle arena game
/Ubisoft confirms that they are working on a team-based battle arena game code-named Project Q. It will come out for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
Additional tweets also confirms this game won’t be a battle royale game and that there are currently no plans for adding NFTs to Project Q. The mention of NFTs is understandable as Ubisoft already have NFTs in one of their games, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, a game that will no longer receive new content as Ubisoft recently halted any development for the game.
The sudden reveal is a reaction to recent leaks of the game. You can see early footage of Project Q in action from a report by Exputer, as it shows the game’s art style and animation that reminds me of Overwatch. What’s interesting here is that you get to pick what abilities and skills your character will have as there are different items available to choose from, like the Icarus Wings seen in the leaked footage, giving a player a higher jump and the ability to hover.
Of course, none of these are final as the leaked footage is from a closed playtest. Officially, Ubisoft has just confirmed it exists, but for those interested with what little was revealed so far, you can register as early as now through Ubiosft’s website.
