Xbox Launching a Black Xbox Series S With a 1 TB SSD This September
/Towards the end of the Xbox Games Showcase, Xbox revealed the new Xbox Series S model with a carbon black design equipped with a 1 TB SSD storage space. This version of the console will be available starting September 1 and will start at $349.99.
This version of the Series S joins the Series X with a black color design as well as a Carbon Black version of the regular Xbox Wireless Controller to match. It’s the same console just now with bigger and better storage space as it goes from 512 GB SSD to a 1 TB SSD. Though, double the space means an increase in cost as the Original Series S costs $299.99.
For those in the Philippines, the Xbox Series S is currently priced at around P15,990. With current conversion rates, the new Series S should cost around P19,600 if released today.
For those unfamiliar with the difference between the Series S and Series X, you can check out the specs side by side below. But simply put, Series X is significantly stronger compared to the Series S (look at GPU power, resolution, and RAM) as both consoles can run the latest games released today but quality and performance vary from game to game.
Pre-orders for the new Xbox Series S version will soon be available and looks to pair the launch close to the release of Starfield, the new RPG epic from Bethesda Games Studio that is confirmed to be locked at 30 fps on both Series S and Series X.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
