[Update] E3 2013: Kingdom Hearts III Coming to PS4 and Xbox One

Kindom_Hearts_III

Need I say more? We've all been waiting for this for nearly a decade now and they've finally announced Kingdom Hearts III.

The "III" tease at the end of Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance and Nomura saying that the next Kingdom Hearts will be a numbered entry being true is such a sigh of relief. Finally, a properĀ  home console version of a new KH game. This and the new gameplay trailer that we got for Final Fantasy Versus XIII (now labeled as Final Fantasy XV) is reason enough for me to get a PS4.

I'm not the biggest KH fan out there but I've played most of them and I appreciate the story (convoluted as it is), This geniunely has me excited. All the feels, man. All the videogame feels.

And look, Sora grabs what looks to be Mark Hamil's~ I mean Master Eraqus' Keyblade. You know what that means. :D (VENTUS)

Kingdom Hearts III will be available on PS4 and Xbox One.

E3 2013: Killer Instinct will be Free-to-Play

killerinstinct_jago_vs_sabrewulfOne of the best things to come out of the Microsoft Press Con was the announcement of a new Killer Instinct game by Rare. Now while the gameplay and artstyle doesn't exactly look next-gen (in my opinion anyway), the return of this IP was indeed very exciting.

Being an exclusive to Xbox One, the game will be one of the console's launch titles and will be free-to-play. Sounds too good to be true? It kind of is. While it is free to play, Jago is announced as the sole free character. While not essentially being a bad Freemium move, I would have expected that they'd make at least two characters be playable like most fighting game demos that come out. Come to think of it, it actually makes sense. Xbox One with ONE free character.

It's a shame that this is a Xbox One exclusive. I played Killer Instinct back in the day on the SNES with my friends and as awesome as this announcement was, it's not enough to make me want to get the very restrictive Xbox One.

E3 2013: Why PS4 is Only $399

ps4-undercuts-xboxoneOne of the last few things that was announced at the end of the Sony press conference was the price of the console. While Microsoft priced the Xbox One at $499, Sony priced the PS4 at a significantly lower $399. As expected, there's a reason for that. Much like with their releases of the various versions of PS3, they would announce the price of the cheapest PS4 set and would also release more expensive kits with usually a bigger hard drive and maybe a game or two.

This looks to be the case with the PS4. But that's not all. Much like the Xbox One and it's emphasis on the Kinect, the PS4 will also work in tandem with a new PlayStation Camera. Since the PS Move has been integrated into the new controllers themselves, you'd think the camera would be a requirement. The Xbox One requires the Kinect to be connected at all times but the $399 PS4 will not include the camera which leads me to believe that it is not required to run the system. As to how important of a role the camera will play in the long run of the PS4's lifespan, at least we have the option. The $399 PS4 will also be rocking a 500GB HDD which is said to be upgradable. It will also come with a mono headset and a HDMI cable which is nice. The Camera will be available at launch for $59.

E3 2013: New Mirror's Edge announced

ME_Wallpaper_16x9_1920x1080_02_47313_screen EA's been keeping DICE busy. Not only are they working on Star Wars: Battlefront and Battlefield 4, they are currently working on what it looks to be a reboot of Mirror's Edge. A teaser trailer was shown during their press conference showing in-game footage. Have a look.

The free running FPS game was a breath of fresh air in a genre filled with a gun in hand back in 2008. Sadly, there was no follow-up for years. But now it looks like EA is ready to make another and based on the video; it will be released when it's ready. Funny how that phrase can affect a game's hype.

The new Mirror's Edge will be on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

E3 2013: Dragon Age: Inquisition announced

EA-2013-Dragon-Age-1 EA has finally release a first look at the next Dragon Age. Dragon Age: Inquisition (Officially dropping the number 3 on the title) isĀ an open world RPG running on DICE's latest Frostbite engine. A trailer was released that provided in-game footage. Have a look below.

Not much details yet, but it's confirmed to be released on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC in 2014.
