During Evo 2012, NetherRealm Studios(Mortal Kombat 9) presented their new game Injustice: Gods Among Us to the Fighting Game Community with 15 minutes of gameplay. They showcased how each stage in the game will have multiple levels, destructible environments, and objects that players can use to inflict damage. Aside from that, the game looks and feels a lot like Mortal Kombat with DC characters, which is not a bad thing at all.
Funny how when I first saw this game my first thought was Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe. DC fighting games got bad rep thanks to that game, but it looks like Injustice is coming to change that.
It still looks like a cool game to play with friends and the visuals look amazing for a fighting game. NetherRealms did a great job with the latest Mortal Kombat so I'm anxious to see if they can bring yet another great fighting game to the table. The whole destructible environments and multiple stages are appealing but it could be ignored in the end. It could come out as a waste of time to interact with these objects.
Injustice: Gods Among Us comes out next year for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii U.
Evo 2012 has finally ended. Tons of great matches and quite a lot of upsets have happened this year. Here are the final results, plus I included the grand finals for each game.
Will update the missing Grand Finals when it becomes available. Thanks IGN and Gamebyte for grand finals videos.
That's it, yet another great Evolution Championship Series has ended. Congratulations to all the winners and more power to the Fighting Game Community. With Evo becoming more of an international event, it only gets better from here.

Biggest upset during the tournament has to be EG's Justin Wong and EVO 2011's Super Street Fighter 4 champion Fuudo not even making it to top 8 this year.

Day 1 of the biggest fighting game tournament of the year has just ended and boy what a day it was. This is my first time watching a full day of an Evo stream and I do not regret the loss of sleep.
The games that ran for day 1 were Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, King of Fighters XIII, Soul Calibur V, and the latest Mortal Kombat game (MK9). I watched a bit of the KoFXIII and SCV streams but mostly viewed the SSF4AE stream. To be honest I was only really hyped up for Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 which will be running on day 2 of EVO 2012 but to my surpise I ended up watching the whole of the SSF4AE pools all the way to the semifinal bracket. Who knew SSF4AE could be so hype? I am personally rooting for Dieminion to take 1st place in the grand finals on day 3.
I need to catch some Z's so that I can stay up to watch the UMvC3 pools and get some gaming done if I wake up a little early.
If you're interested in watching the live stream of EVO, you can view all 3 channels at the same time here http://evo2012.s3.amazonaws.com/live/index.html as well as the schedules for each of the pools and panels.
Man, so much hype on day 1. What more from day 2? IT'S MAHVEL BABY!

Sadly this time around I won't be attending their event. A few weeks ago I was registered to participate on their teams tournament but plans have changed since I needed to attend a family lunch on Saturday(If I don't go, me dead).
Pinoy2dfighters is a growing community in the Philippines that hosts 2d fighting tournaments. If you want to compete with the best the Philippines has to offer in the 2D fighting realm, head over to their events, they won't disappoint. I've attended around 4 major events and each one came out successful. We're talking about events that are jam-packed, hardly able to get seats. Last tournament had 100+ attendees, with 3 tournaments in one venue.
For those who are here in the Philippines and want to get into the tournament action, head on over to Oktoberfist happening this Saturday. Everybody is welcome to join!
