The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition

Four Swords Adventures Nintendo has set a release date for The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition, a port of the 2004 Gamecube title The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures. Scheduled for release on September 28, 2011, the game will be available for download on the DSi, DSi XL, and the 3DS. The download will be free until February 20, 2012.

Four Swords Adventures was a great little Zelda title on the Gamecube but it was not meant to be played alone. However getting other people to join your game was a bit of a hassle. What with each person needing to have their own GBA and each needing it's own GBA Gamecube cable. The Anniversary Edition is said to have a "enhance new single=player mode" but since you can connect to other players wirelessly now, I'd say it's time to kick some Ganon butt!

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy - 1st Gameplay Video

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy gameplay Remember that Final Fantasy music and rhythm game that was announced? It sounded all confusing and (to some) stupid. Well I was excited when i first heard about it and now that I've seen gameplay of it makes me want to go out there and get a 3DS right this minute.

Aside from battle sequences having the music and rhythm action, what looks to be fixed segments of travel also have a different approach to the music and rhythm action. Add to that some FMVs from other Final Fantasy games used as background videos during some Ouendan style action. Is that the FF8 Ballroom dance scene I see?

Thanks to Colette Bennett's tweet for the video link.

3DS gets a second slide pad for Monster Hunter [Update]

Monster Hunter Tri will be ported over to the 3DS under the name Monster Hunter 3G. The added 'G' will indicate that it won't be just a direct port but will also be packed with content. Aside from the Tri's world, underwater elements included, 3G will also contain the expanded world that was in Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. This is a good thing for the 3DS since Monster Hunter is a very big franchise in gaming today and will surely bring up sales for Nintendo's latest handheld. But all you MH veterans know that controlling your character and the camera at the same time on the PSP was very awkward, forcing you to do the 'claw' but controlling the analog stick with your thumb and D-pad with your index finger. And with the 3DS' layout of the slide pad being above the D-pad, one can only imagine how the 'claw' will be performed.

According to Famitsu, there will be a right slide pad attachment for Monster Hunter 3G. It will snap onto the 3DS will be slightly smaller than the left slide pad. It will be positioned to the right of the face buttons and will have it's own pair of triggers because the peripheral will cover the existing shoulder buttons on the system.

Capcom will probably show off Monster Hunter 3G at TGS and it's possible we may see a product demo or at least a peek at this new peripheral.

[Update]

With the release of the latest edition of Famitsu we finally get a look at the new peripheral. Kinda reminds me of the SEGA Gamegear, maybe it's just the color.

Called the "Kakuchou Slide Pad," or "Expansion Slide Pad," it really does add a bit of bulk to the system.

Weekend, what are you playing?

Wake me up when September ends... HELLZ NO! video games, front and center! What are you playing?

Migoy: Most of my Saturday was spent being out at an event at Robinsons Ermita and then having a Good Burger run after with some friends after. But I had WoL (my PSP3000) with me and in it I have Dragon Ball Z: Tenkaichi Tag Team to go with my current Super Saiyan craze. Perhaps you could catch me playing it on the feed or maybe I'll dive into an older Tenkaichi title on the Wii for some Ki blasting goodness.

Arlie: I've been playing Demon's Souls this week. I still don't get the Black/White World Tendency System, and I'm having trouble finding Scirvir on Stonefang Tunnel 2-2 on White World Tendency. I also received my early access PS3 beta key for Assassin's Creed: Revelations Multiplayer that I've been waiting for yesterday, almost 2.8GB of download + 150MB patch.

Quash: Playing Deus Ex: Human Revolution. The game's awesome and I've been playing it non-stop. Aside from the sneaking, hacking, fail firefights, and the constant reading of people's emails,I'm having loads of fun exploring the world of Deus Ex. I can already see myself finding a copy of the first Deus Ex.

I also tried the Resistance 3 multiplayer beta and didn't like it that much. I was never into the Resistance series. Wonder how long Resistance 3 multiplayer will last when Battlefield 3 and MW3 comes out?

Weekend, what are you playing?

It's PAX weekend! But for those of you who are at home, what are you playing?

Migoy: Rainy weekend and I got no money so I'm stuck here at home. Played some Rockband Unplugged and K-On! on my PSP. Also played some Gundam SEED: Rengou vs. Z.A.F.T. II Plus just to test it out as I'm lending my copy to a friend.

Arlie: I finally finished my first play through of Mass Effect 2 with the default male Shepard. I survived the suicide mission with all my teammates alive, though all of the Normandy crew perished. I'm gonna start my female Shepard in Insanity difficulty on my next play through to prepare my import save for Mass Effect 3, and to get the Platinum trophy. I haven't touched my copy of Demon's Souls yet, so I might give it a go next. Is this game really that difficult?

Quash: Been busy lately so was able to play just a bit this weekend. Played Starcraft 2 and worked on my 1v1 ladder(i suck now). Also played some League of Legends with some friends for fun. Playing a Dota-like game brings back memories, also reminds me why I stopped playing games like this. I'm just waiting for Dead Island really, which is coming out on Sept 6. Hopefully it comes out on time. Want some zombie rpg madness!
