Weekend, what are you playing?

Midway through August already? Time sure flies when you're playing video games. So, what are YOU playing this weekend?

Migoy: Me and Arlie will be out with a few college friends for the weekend and won't be back until Monday but I got Phat's (my fat PSP) with me to kill idle time with Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai - Another Road on it as it's one of my 'kill time' games. Arlie went to one of our friend's house who just bought a copy of the new Mortal Kombat game so maybe they played a bit of that.

Quash:Had a huge Saturday. Joined Indestructible 2011,  pretty much our biggest fighting game tournament in the Philippines for Super Street Fighter 4 : Arcade Edition, Marvel vs Capcom 3, and Mortal Kombat with over 150+ players registered for all games. This event had players from different provinces to join Indestrucible 2011, so a big turnout indeed. While I was eliminated right away in Mortal Kombat(I suck), i was able to reach top 16 for both Street Fighter 4 and Marvel vs Capcom 3. Though i fell short, I'm pleased with making it that far. Had so much fun and met a lot of awesome players.

Congratulations to the winners of the event and also to Pinoy2DFighters for another successful event. More power to you guys! If you want to see the results, head over to this link.

New Budget PSP to come to Europe only

At Sony's Gamescon 2011 press briefing, the newly named Sony Computer Entertainment Europe president and CEO Jim Ryan revealed that they plan to continue supporting the PSP by releasing a new model.

The new PSP will be priced at €99 ($143). However, that price does not come without sacrifice. The new model will not have Wi-Fi capabilities unlike other PSP models. As far as physical design goes, it also looks a little different, like a sort of cross between the 3000 model and the GO. Aside from the fact that it will be Wi-Fi-less, it will still retain the rest of the PSP features.

There is no specific release date yet and will not be launching in North America.

Weekend, what are you playing?

"Shining Broly Finger!"

Boom! Video games! Quick! What are you playing?

Migoy: Just finished Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai, the story mode is really short so I'm only doing a few challenge modes here and there.

Arlie: Playing Red Dead Redemption Multiplayer again because of the Triple EXP Weekend. I also bought the Undead Nightmare Collection DLC Bundle from PSN because it is on sale this week for $9.99, from $19.99. My friend Jesus(not Christ) told me to share it with other people like he did (pun not intended). So I had it shared with other Red Dead Redemption players from the PinoyPS Community to split the cost of the $10 PSN card. I'd like to thank some people from PinoyPS.com; Kamikaze, carmancilla, frigid_aire and Kuroba.

Quash: This weekend I'm tripping out with some friends. Trying out the free to play MMO Age of Conan: Unchained. Why? well, why not, i said to myself "it's free anyways". But in just a few hours I'm felling regret already, the game frustrates the hell out of me. Not a good MMO at all, we'll see if it picks up as we progress, but i don't see myself playing this in the next few weeks. Regardless of people saying that one game is just bad, I like to try it out myself, but in this case i should have listened.

Weekend, what are you playing?

So it's the first weekend of August, but that's not relevant to this post. What matters is what YOU are playing this weekend. So, what are you playing?

Migoy: Played a bit of Dragon Ball Z: Infinite World with my cousin, slept through most of my Saturday and did a little bit of Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law. Also got Dragon Ball Kai: Ulimate Butoden on my DS and hot damn that game is fun. If only it were in English.

Quash: Before I headed out for editing work, I was able to finish Alan Wake today. Will start writing a review about it soon. Aside from that, more Halo: Reach multiplayer. Not done with the campaign yet, damn multiplayer is addicting.

Weekend, what are you playing?

July is over and August is here. Oh how time flies. What are you playing?

Migoy: After coming home from work Saturday morning, I hit the sack and slept like a rock through the morning. Went out during the afternoon looking for things that could better my broadcasting setup so I didn't really do any solid gaming as I just booted up games to test stuff out. But since I was out, I had my trusty PSP with me and with it some Super Saiyan action. I put back Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai 2 Another Road which was my first PSP game and was the game that got me hyped to save up for a PSP in the first place. Just some good clean fun punching dudes with a force that could destroy mountains and blasting people with beams of light. Kamehameha!

Quash: Last saturday i finally did it, I bought myself an Xbox 360! an early early birthday present to myself. It's an Xbox 360 250gb slim with no Kinect, I'll make a post about it soon about the details, but this weekend I'm playing Halo: Reach and Alan Wake, the first games for my Xbox. Just activated my one month free in Xbox live gold and tried out Reach's MP, next I'm going to start my first playthrough of Alan Wake.

Arlie: This week I started my first playthrough of Mass Effect 2 as the default male Shepard. I am already 30 hours in-game, doing all the sidequests possible and all the loyalty missions. In my next playthrough, I'll play as a female Shepard maybe in Insanity difficulty.
