E3 2013 - Dragon's Crown trailer

dragons-crown-logo-600x300-ss01 With E3 being the big event filled with new games to take in, you will find yourself missing out on a few of them. One in particular, after looking back at this year's E3, is a game called Dragon's Crown for the PlayStation 3 and Vita. After seeing a few interviews, and of course the trailer that was released for E3, I now have this urge to get a new PS3 or even get a Vita just for this game. Have a look at the trailer below.

Dungeons and Dragon's arcade game? Anyone? Back in the day, when arcades were everywhere, games like these emptied my pockets. Remember the X-men arcade beat em up?  Dragon's Crown looks to bring back those types of games and I can't wait to get my hands on this, invite a couple of friends over, and just go all out.

Atlus, thank you for this.

Dragon's Crown will be available August 6 for PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita.

PS All-Stars DLC art surfaces, shows a cancelled DLC character

PS all stars-SS-01 Artwork for what seemed to be a canned DLC character for PlayStation All-Stars has shown up in the internet. Not many people in the earlier generations will not recognize him, but he's definitely a nice choice even for the main roster.

Dart, the main protagonist from the 2001 RPG Legends of Dragoon, was planned to be a DLC character, but sadly got cancelled.

AllGamesBeta took a screenshot from artist Mike Edward's Portfolio showing that it was indeed in the works.

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale was an okay attempt from Sony to create a Smash Bros. version for the PlayStation. But If there's one thing that bothered me the most out of this fighting game, it's that their choice of characters isn't really character that would be worthy in the PS All-Star main roster. Like seriously? Zeus from God of War? and a good and evil version of Cole from inFAMOUS?

Characters like Dart are what we call All-Star material. If they added more characters that would make me reminisce on classic PlayStation games, it would have been sure sell for me. Especially if they added characters like Crash Bandicoot or maybe Abe from Abe's Oddysee. There's a lot to choose from, but obviously they decided to go with characters that are more familiar to the younger crowd. But still, two Coles!?

The Last of Us patch 1.02 includes MP fix, and removes sex hotline numbers from SP

1370270678-plank-attack-tlou-mp Apparently Naughty Dog recently went under fire when players noticed that a portion of the game has Joel and Ellie stumble upon a few hotline numbers placed on the wall. People actually tried to see if these numbers were valid and they were. Problem was those numbers were working sex phone hotline numbers. So, bam. The devs apologized for the mistake and quickly released patch 1.02 to remove it along with multiplayer fixes.

Creative director Neil Druckmann spoke to Kotaku regarding this:

"That was an artist's mistake," . "What happened was, they put some phone numbers in the game and then they thought they could just change the area code to 555, then it's invalid because it's what they do in movies. But I guess that doesn't work when you have a 1-800 in front of it. We're now working to take it out." Druckmann concluded that the working numbers are "just an honest mistake."

It was hilarious that devs get into situations like this. They should realize by now that there will always be at least one person that will do things like test numbers in a video game to see what comes out.

The patch also included a handful of changes in the game's multiplayer, here's the full list of patch 1.02:

  • Single player
    • Texture of a phone number on a bulletin board changed
  • Multiplayer

Technical

  • Host migration has been improved. Losing connection to the host during a migration should occur less often
  • General crash when leaving multiplayer fixed
  • Intro camera fix for some introductory cut-scenes
  • Connectivity issues while playing have been tuned
  • If you disconnect or lose connection to the host, you will no longer advance a clan day. You will only advance a day if you are kicked from the match, or exit through the menu

Gameplay

  • Explosion Expert level 2 should be selectable now
  • The voting time for match selection has been reduced to 15 seconds
  •  “No party” playlist options have been added to both Supply Raid and Survivors, players can only join this playlist solo
  • Melee against a downed character now uses the same range as normal melee

Deadpool launch trailer is hilarious

Deadpool-GameActivision has released the launch trailer for the antihero game Deadpool, and just like past trailers, it's hilarious. Deadpool! Bang! Babes! Mayhem! Oh and to give you a bit of a heads up, there's dubstep.

It looks great, but I have a feeling we'll get entertained by Deadpool's crazyness more than the actual gameplay. Activision has the tendency to hide things we might not like in their trailers, so I have my guard up on this one.

High Moon Studio's Deadpool is coming out today, June 25 in the US and other countries on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. No word if it will be available in the Philippines this week.
