Aside from Bayonnetta 2, there's still one big game coming to the Wii U. Pikmin 3 is coming in July and a new gameplay trailer was just released. It's a bit short, but it's a good reminder that the little cute aliens are back.
The game will be released in Japan on July 13, July 26 in Europe, and in August 4 for the US.
A friend of mine told me to use Ares as a joke (we thought his inclusion in the game was funny) but as I messed around with him in training more for an hour or two I found that he seems like a pretty good character.
A bit stiff in terms of range, movement and normals but he can do decent damage of simple strings and can do hard hitting corner combos. You can hit a wall bounce after a meter burned God Smack (the unblockable flying sledgehammer like move) but I found that out after I made this video.
The last combo actually does around 55% or so damage but I edited it to show the win pose at the end.
The game director for the Super Smash Bros. series, Masahiro Sakurai, gives us a more in-depth look at the new upcoming Super Smash Bros. Game for the 3DS and Wii U.
We get a better a better look at both versions of the game as well as the changes in the new game both visually and gameplay wise. Some older characters have updated looks and new moves to set this game appart from previous entries.
Sakurai also talks a bit about some of the new characters such as The Villager, Mega Man and the Wii Fit Trainer.
A bit of good news from this is the confirmation that both the 3DS and Wii U will have the same roster of characters but will have a few unique stages depending on which version you get. Like the 3DS will have more handheld themed stages and the Wii U will have more home console theme stages.
If you thought the inclusion of Mega Man in the next Super Smash Bros. was crazy. Wait till you see this one.
Mega Man being in the new Super Smash Bros. is super awesome but if you've followed SSB news from even back in the day, you'd know that Mega Man could have potentially made it in Super Smash Bros. Meleealong with Snake and Sonic. Snake and Sonic didn't make it due to time constraints but Mega Man had a different reason. Inafune said that he would have been glad to include Mega Man in Melee but only if Nintendo approached Capcom about it. In Snake and Sonic's case it was the opposite as Kojima was the one who approached Nintendo and SEGA was down for putting Sonic in there. In short seeing Mega Man in the new Smash Bros. is awesome but is something that we've been expecting for a long time now.
On to the real reason for this post. Nintendo is getting a bit crazy now with their games which I like and this new character for Smash Bros. is super crazy. It's the WiiFit lady. Yeah, no words can express whatever it is that we're all feeling right now.
A new untitled game has been revealed by Nintendo that is being developed by Monolith Soft, Inc. Not to be confused with the F.E.A.R. developers Monolith. No combat was shown but there looked to be game combat scenarios which the player just didn't interact with. Aside from the giant sword wielding RPG stuff, there are giant robots. I love me so mecha. It looks like you'll be able to take control of multiple mechs such as a humanoid mech with a flight pack and one that transforms into a tank.
Taking their experience working on Xenoblade: Chronicles, you can tell that the game looks to take a lot of inspiration from it. Could this possibly be a sequel to Xenoblade?
Right now the game has no title but the 'X' teased at the end (though not entirely the same) looks to be written in the same vain as the X on the Xenoblade title which just further proves the theory that the game takes place in the same world possibly set in the future. The full title for this new game will be revealed in 2014.
