Terraria for consoles gets a teaser trailer

Terraria Terraria, the Minecraft-like 2D side-scroller is finally hitting consoles. A teaser trailer for the console was just released by 505 Games and is scheduled for an early 2013 release. Check out the trailer below.

I personally loved this game. back in 2011, during Steam's Holiday Sale, I managed to pick this game up on a discount and I'm happy that I did. It literally got me hooked for hours when I first fired it up the game. You literally start with nothing and must build everything from the materials around you. It's very familiar to Minecraft, but the side-scrolling style gives it a nice old school twist. Plus, the bosses are a real challenge.

At the end of the trailer, the mentioned new content for the console version. Great addition, but I really hope 505 Games doesn't leave the PC community in the dark. There is still no word if the added content will hit PC. If it never does, well that's just plain sad. They sold 1.6 copies because of the PC community, so I really wish they provide the same amount of content for both versions so that one version is not inferior to the other.

Terraria will be out hopefully by early next year on PSN and Xbox Live.

Resident Evil 6 reviews are now hitting the net, reviews mixed so far

Resident Evil 6 comes out tomorrow and just like clockwork, reviews of the game start showing up all at once. Here's a compilation of most of the reviews out now in the net to help give you an idea on what you're getting into.

Resident Evil 6 review list:

G4TV - 2.5/5

Gamespot (Video review) - 4.5/10

Eurogamer - 6/10

Gametrailers - 8.8/10

Joystiq - 2.5/5

GameInformer - 8.75/10

IGN - 7.9/10

CVG - 8/10

Destructoid - 3/10

1UP - C+

PSU - 8.5/10

GamesRadar - 3.5/5

Reading the reviews so far confirms my fears on Resident Evil 6. When I first saw the first look of gameplay, I was completely turned off by how it looked more like a third-person action game. I then got back into the hype though when they mentioned multiple campaigns, and the announced Agent Hunt mode (similar to L4D versus mode ). But when I tried the public demo, I got turned off yet again thanks to the horrible camera angle and controls.

I'm not all that surprised with the reviews. Why can't Capcom just give us a survival-horror Resident Evil title? Why evolve the series to the point that it's unrecognizable anymore?

I'll still give this game a chance though, playing the game with a friend should be entertaining enough. You never know, it might turn out to be a great game to me, but I've been wrong before.

If you know any more reviews that need to be on the list, feel free to hit the comments.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Zombies details emerge, trailer also out

You into zombie slaying? Yea sure you are! Why do you think there's tons of zombie games out now. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 comes out on November, and just like the first game, it will have its very own zombies mode. Treyarch has finally spilled the beans on the changes to Zombies, plus a trailer featuring one of the three game modes for zombies.

Above is a game mode called Tranzit, a campaign mode that lets you and three friends ride a bus heading to location after location picking up supplies and killing zombies. When reaching each location, you are tasked to hold off the incoming zombie horde until you are allowed to move on to the next area. To travel to the next area, you can go by bus or by foot, and the zombies won't stop coming, so holding the horde off continue even as you go forward.

It's a good change, but just in case you want the traditional horde-like mode seen in the first game, they have that too. Survival mode is all about survival. Building defenses and pretty much see how long you guys can last.  No word yet on the changes done, but its good to know they didn't scrap the old for the new.

Were not done yet, there's still one more mode to be introduced, and this one is a bit more in the competitive side. The last mode is called Grief. It's a 4 versus 4 match where you try to outlive your competition. You can't kill each other the conventional way, what you can do though is make the zombies do the killing for you. Of course, they haven't went into much detail on how you get to do that. I can already imagine hilarious moments coming out of Grief mode.

Looks like Treyarch put a lot of thought into Zombies this time around. Three game modes for zombies? Sounds good to me.

I have pretty high expectations for Black Ops 2. I bought the first game mainly because of Zombies, but to my surprise it turned out to be one of the best Call of Duty games I've ever played. I Was not feeling the whole futuristic setting for the sequel, but the changes in Zombies got me back into the hype. Oh and multiplayer?  Been there, done that.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Dishonored, and surprisingly Black Ops 2(That Zombie Mode) are on my day 1 buy list. Resident Evil 6 was supposed to be on the list, but I have this feeling to not jump the gun on this one. I played the public demo a couple of days ago and it actually gave me second thoughts about getting it.

What about you? What are you planning to get on the day it gets released?

Mass Effect Trilogy coming this November

Mass Effect Trilogy Bioware just announced Mass Effect Trilogy, which is pretty much all Mass Effect games wrapped up in one neat package. It's out on November and it will be available on Xbox 360, and PC. For PS3 though, the trilogy will be released on a later date.

It will be released on November 6, 2012 for Xbox 360, and PC. It will be priced at $59.99.

The first Mass Effect is finally heading to Playstation 3. I'm pretty sure they are currently working on porting the game to the PS3, which is why the PS3 version of the trilogy is planned for a later date. I didn't think they would bother to bring Mass Effect 1 to the PS3, but I guess they had to because of this package. Wouldn't be much of a trilogy without the first, now would it?

as you can see above, it will include all three games, and an exclusive artbook, all wrapped up in a premium foil box.
