Scalebound Canceled, Confirmed By Microsoft
/Not the best way to start the year. Rumors have been swirling, but Polygon has confirmed that Microsoft has finally responded to the talks and has confirmed that Scalebound, the Xbox/PC exclusive, is officially canceled.
Microsoft's statement on the cancellation is as follows:
"After careful deliberation, Microsoft Studios has come to the decision to end production for Scalebound," a Microsoft spokesperson said. "We’re working hard to deliver an amazing lineup of games to our fans this year, including Halo Wars 2, Crackdown 3, State of Decay 2, Sea of Thieves, and other great experiences."
Scalebound was an upcoming Action RPG by Platinum games and you play as Drew, accompanied by his dragon Thuban. The last big announcement was that the game will feature 4-Player co-op, showing multiple dragons and Drews battling one boss. Last year, talks was pretty slim compared to previous years, with only confirmation that Scalebound will be part of Xbox 'Play Anywhere' initiative.
Platinum Games' upcoming game, NieR: Automata, is all set to release on March 7. A lengthy demo is out now on the PS4.
