MediEvil Is Getting That Remaster Treatment
/During this year's PlayStation Experience, after all the talking and awkward stares to Hideo Kojima over Death Stranding, Sony announced that a MediEvil remaster is coming to PS4.
Sony calls this a "proper PS4-grade resurrection" of the original MediEvil. The teaser above doesn't give much except for the fact that it exists.
For those unfamiliar, MediEvil follows the adventure of Sir Daniel Fortesque, a champion that has fallen in battle when the evil sorcerer Zarok attempted to invade the kingdom with his undead army. The sorcerer reappears and while resurrecting his army, Sir Dan was caught in the spell and is now a jawless undead skeleton. He takes this chance to take out Zarok for good.
The first game was released on the PlayStation in 1998. A sequel then followed in 2000. A remake was released in 2005 on the PlayStation Portable under the name MediEvil: Ressurection. The original game found its way to the PSN in 2007 for the PS3 as one a PSOne
Hopefully, this means a MediEvil 3 is on the horizon. Once can hope Guerrilla Games can get on that soon.
Shawn Layden, President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment America, made the announcement and we'd like to think that the success found in the Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy sparked talks into doing this remaster. With that in mind, I'm curious as to what other games they have in mind to get the remaster treatment.
No release date was given during the MediEvil announcement.
