StarCraft Remastered Announced, It's About Time

Blizzard just announced that the original StarCraft, together with its expansion Brood War, will be getting the remastered touch which includes a visual and audio upgrade, 4k support, and complete online functionality.

The pixelated look is now gone. Everything is defined in the photos released, as well as the slider viewer comparing the old and the new, which is available at the StarCraft Remastered website.

Another change in the remastered is the new briefing presentation for the campaign missions as well as all the dialogues being re-recorded. The same game but with a new coat of paint since Blizzard is stating that gameplay and features have been left untouched.

That's not all for StarCraft fans though. In a report by PCGamer, the 1.18 patch for StarCraft : Brood War is planned to go live at the end of March. When that goes to live, the original game and the expansion will be free to all. Not Free-To-Play, just free. It will include the online functionality with Battle.net and you may upgrade to the Remastered at any time when it becomes available.

StarCraft Remastered is set to release this Summer.
