Nintendo Switch Starter Packs Are Bundles For The Console's All-Time Greats
/Nintendo is planning to introduce three Nintendo Switch "starter packs" intended for new Nintendo Switch owners. Each starter pack features one of the console's greatest games and a matching guidebook for $59.99 and will be available on the 28th of September.
While none of those games require a guide to be fully enjoyed, the amount of stuff Nintedo packs into their first party classics means it’s easy to miss things. It’s a canny move by Nintendo to not only highlight the Switch’s crown jewel releases but keep their value high enough to continue to warrant a $59.99 price tag.
The Super Mario Odyssey Starter Pack includes the game and Super Mario Odyssey: Traveler’s Guide, The Splatoon 2 Starter Pack pairs the great shooter with Splatoon 2: Splategy Guide and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Starter Pack packs in the Switch essential with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Explorer’s Guide.
Truth be told, two of these Nintendo Switch Starter Packs aren’t actually new. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Explorer’s Edition, which included the game, the Explorer’s Guide, and a map, originally appeared in November 2017 while the Splatoon 2 Starter Edition appeared in March 2018 and included the game, the aforementioned Splategy Guide, and two sheets of stickers.
When Nintendo announced that they were dropping a Nintendo Direct on my birthday focusing on the upcoming opening of the Nintendo Museum in Kyoto, I was overjoyed but had no idea what to expect.
