It got confusing thanks to Amazon showing that there will be a discount, then those details were taken down, leaving everybody now wanting something for owning the original. Now, Bandai Namco has confirmed that there will be a discount, and it's a big cut. Those who own Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition on Steam will get 50% off on the Remastered version, making it only $20.
Bandai Namco also mentioned that the Prepare to Die edition will be removed from Steam on May 9, two weeks before the release of the remastered version, which is on May 25 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The Nintendo Switch version was recently delayed and is planned for a summer release.
Console owners won't be getting any discount treatment, sadly.
