Armored Core 6 Guide - How To Get S Rank in Missions
/In Armored Core 6, the whole campaign is level-based, meaning it can be repeated and rated based on your performance. The highest rating you can get is an S rank and this guide details what it takes for the game to give you that rank after you’ve completed a mission.
Armored Core 6 Guide - Earning S rank in missions
For starters, it’s highly recommended you attempt to S rank all missions after you’ve completed the game at least once as it would be easier to not only have a full grasp of the game but you’ll have more options in parts and weaponry to achieve the S rank.
How do you get ranks in missions?
Armored Core 6 only starts giving you ranks after you’ve completed the mission at least once. You’ll be given a rank based on your performance when you redo previous missions through Replay Mission in the Sortie menu.
How are ranks determined?
It varies from mission to mission but the general criteria are as follows:
Completing the mission as fast as possible
No respawning/restarting at checkpoints
Low repair costs (remaining AP at the end of the mission)
Low ammo cost
The most important factor in most missions seems to be how fast or efficient you are. The least important is your ammo costs as while it does contribute to your rank, it’s not as significant on your speed and by how much you were damaged.
Don’t worry, getting an S Rank doesn’t necessarily mean you need to achieve no-hit runs. We’ve been given the S-Rank when consuming Repair Kits, so it really depends on the mission.
What can I do to increase my chances of getting that S Rank?
Speedrun missions
It’s mostly about the speed when chasing that S rank, so you’ll need a very fast and mobile AC setup with a loadout that would best cater to whatever mission you are going to attempt. Experiment! The journey to getting all S-Ranks will require you to constantly switch parts and load-outs depending on the mission.
If Survivability will be an issue, the Pulse Armor core expansion will be a savior to keep that repair cost low if used correctly.
Objectives matter
Consider focusing on the objectives as fast as possible first. Ignore unnecessary fights. One great example is in the very first mission ‘Illegal Entry’. The best way to get the S Rank there is to just ignore most enemies and get yourself to the boss as fast as possible.
But there are also missions that require you to beat the special Combat Log enemy that spawns in the mission. If you see yourself constantly earning A Rank and doing everything fast and smoothly, it’s likely that the mission requires you to take out more optional enemies or take out the special Combat Log enemy.
Getting the S Rank is really a journey of trial and error as Armored Core 6 doesn’t properly display what you are missing and what you lack at the end of a mission.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
