Warhammer 40K Darktide Is Coming to Xbox on October 4
/Developer Fatshark revealed during Gamescom 2023 that their 4-player co-op shooter Warhammer 40K Darktide is finally coming to Xbox Series X|S on October 4.
Darktide is getting a better class system
Warhammer 40K Darktide didn’t release in the best shape on PC but the developers are hoping to turn things around as they’ve been working on improvements to the game, even going as far as implementing a new class system for its four classes in October. The timing to release the Xbox version of the game is perfect as those on the platform will be getting a more polished and complete version compared to what was given last year.
In a report from PC Gamer, Fatshark is simply giving Darktide a deeper class system, replacing the original one where a player gets to pick one of three perks per five levels up to 30.
Soon, each level gives you a point to be spent on an RPG-like skill tree that gives each class a new set of abilities and passives.
Development for this new skill tree started before Darktide’s PC release last November, but it simply wasn’t ready, making it quite unusual that they released the game in the state it was in back in November as it did launch with a barely functioning crafting system. Thankfully, the crafting system is now complete but it took a while for them to get it running.
Now, we have a new class system on the horizon to hopefully breathe more life to the game, making October likely the best time to revisit the game.
Warhammer 40K Darktide is now available on PC and PC Game Pass.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
