Chucky From Child’s Play Is Coming to Dead by Daylight as the Latest Killer
/The next Killer to join Behaviour Interactive’s popular 4v1 online game Dead by Daylight is everyone’s favorite doll Chucky. Officially named The Good Guy in the game, this Killer is now available through the game’s Public Test Build, giving eager players the chance to try out Chucky for free before he becomes available in the live servers.
Chucky joining Dead by Daylight felt like a dream that will never happen. Due to his small size, it felt unlikely that the Behaviour would consider adding the killer doll to the game, but somehow they made it work as Chucky will roam around a match in third-person.
He also has some entity (likely the real killer’s spirit?) assisting the doll in picking up downed Survivors to hook them. Very unique, and very scary with his unique ability.
Here’s how it works.
The Good Guy (Chucky) Power
Chucky can enter Hidey-Ho Mode at any time, provided the cooldown is over. When in Hidey-Ho Mode, Chucky becomes Undetectable and generates map-wide Footfalls, disorienting Survivors with sounds and footprints coming from many directions.
Special Ability: Slice & Dice
While in Hidey-Ho Mode, Chucky gets access to the charged Slice & Dice ability, allowing him to rush unsuspecting Survivors before leaping forward and performing a Slice & Dice attack. Additionally, if a Survivor vaults through a window or over a pallet, Chucky can quickly chain a Scamper while using a Slice & Dice.
Special Ability: Scamper
While in Hidey-Ho Mode, Chucky can perform a Scamper through windows or under downed pallets, allowing him to close on his unsuspecting pray.
Just like all Killers, Chucky will come with three unique perks when he launches.
The Good Guy (Chucky) Perks
Hex: Two Can Play - Anytime you are stunned or blinded by any Survivor 2 times, if there is no Hex Totem associated with Hex: Two Can Play, a Dull Totem becomes a Hex Totem.
Survivors who stun or blind you are blinded for 1.5 seconds. This does not affect carried Survivors.
Batteries Included - When within 12 meters of a completed generator, you have 5% Haste.
The movement speed bonus lingers for 5 seconds after leaving the Generator’s range.
Friends ‘Til the End - You become obsessed with one Survivor.
When you hook a Survivor that is not the Obsession, the Obsession becomes Exposesd for 20 seconds and reveals their aura for 10 seconds.
When you hook the Obsession, another random Survivor screams and reveals their position and becomes the Obsession.
The Chucky release is not paired with a new Survivor or a new map, similar to when Hellraiser’s Pinhead was added to the game. PTB should last a couple of weeks as Chucky is slated to launch on November 28.
When Chucky is released, a legendary outfit will be available that transform the Killer to Chucky’s bride Tiffany Valentine aka the Bride of Chucky, and will be voiced by non other than Jennifer Tilly, the original actor that played the same role in the original movies.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
