Destiny 2 Season 21 Ability Tuning Will Nerf Titan Shoulder Charge, Buff Roaming Supers

With Destiny 2’s Season 21 just weeks away from release, Bungie has given a tease of what’s changing next season. One of them is how they will be tuning abilities for each subclass in the game as some are getting nerfed while others are getting more love to make them more viable in different scenarios.

One of the new changes coming in Season 21 of Destiny 2 is that Bungie is making adjustments to the subclasses in the game, particularly with the roaming Supers. They will now add a flat 20% damage resistance to PvE damage on all of these Supers to make them more viable in high-level PvE content.

A great start, but it doesn’t stop there as they are increasing damage values for some Roaming Supers. You can get updated with all the figures in their blog post, but mostly all subclasses were given a damage increase, even burst Supers.

Strand is also getting adjusted next season. The Hunter’s Threaded Spike is getting a massive damage increase and a few adjustments while the others have a few tweaks. The interesting change for this subclass overall is the reduction of the base cooldown to Grapple as it was brought down to 82 seconds compared to the current 105 seconds. Will it make it more viable? Time will tell.

Bungie is also making changes to the regular abilities in subclasses like Titan's Shoulder Charge. In the upcoming season, Seismic Strike, Shield Bash, and Hammer Strike in their respective subclasses will now cost 15% melee energy on activation to avoid spamming.

Bungie is also making some changes to the Hunters and Warlocks' subclasses. For instance, the Hunter's Proximity Explosive Knife and Weighted Throwing Knife will be nerfed a bit since Bungie sees them as the most dominating ability in the class at the moment. Meanwhile, Warlocks will see some adjustments to their subclasses like Incinerator Snap, Ball Lightning, and boosted grenades.

Single Fragment slots getting buffed

Another interesting change next season is to Aspects with only one Fragment slot. Next season, they plan to increase all Aspects with one slot to have two. Those affected are:

Hunter

  • Trapper’s Ambush

  • Shatterdive

  • Gunpowder Gamble

Titan

  • Bastion

  • Juggernaut

Warlock

  • Chaos Accelerant

Destiny 2’s 21st season, titled Season of the Deep, is expected to go live on May 23, which is the end of the 2023 Guardian Games that went live this week.
