It looks like Techland needs more time to polish their open world zombie game Dying Light 2 Stay Human as it was delayed yet again to February 4, 2022. It was originally set for December 7, 2021.

Techland’s latest delay provided a bit of comfort to those looking forward to the sequel of 2015’s Dying Light as the game is considered complete and is currently being playtested.

“It is by far the biggest and most ambitious project we’ve ever done. Unfortunately, we’ve realized that to bring the game to the level we envision, we need more time to polish and optimize it” says Techland CEO Pawel Marchewka in the delay announcement you can see below.

It was a rough journey for the developers at Techland. Dying Light 2 Stay Human was first announced way back in 2018 and the first release window given was January 2020. That didn’t happen as Techland announced at the start of this year that they are delaying the game indefinitely

News about Dying Light 2 only emerged yet again in May with new gameplay footage and a new title, now equipped with a December release, until now.

Dying Light 2 Stay Human is set to release on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. It’s an open world zombie game with playing taking the role of Aiden Caldwell who joins a group of survivors called the Nightrunners.

Based on recent gameplay footage, Dying Light 2 will play just like the first game - parkour your way out of danger as you traverse through a city run by multiple factions, fending off the infected or hostile humans with either makeshift melee weapons or ranged weaponry if you’re lucky to have ammunition for them. Missions are best done during the day in this world as when sun sets, deadlier infected emerge and roam the city streets.
