Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Series Reaches Over 3 Million Sales Worldwide
/Square Enix announced that the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster, which contains Final Fantasy 1-6, has surpassed three mission units sold worldwide since the collection launched.
The collection was first launched through Steam, iOS, and Android back in 2021, but was then released on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in 2022.
Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster is currently considered the best version to revisit the classic JRPGS before titles like Final Fantasy VII and beyond. Each title retains the original 2D graphics and sound while adding new features such as a bestiary, sound player, and an illustrations gallery for those looking to appreciate each title even more.
Console versions feature a pixel font inspired by the original version of the games and a BGM switching option, giving players the option to experience these classics closer to their original form. More quality-of-life features are available such as switching off random encounters and adjusting experience gain.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
