Both the physical and digital pre-orders will also get the Braveheart weapon DLC plus the C ait Sith Charm, which boosts how much Gil you earn. State of Play focused on Final Fantasy XVI
Last week, PlayStation debuted a new State of Play broadcast that focused solely on highlighting new gameplay footage of Final Fantasy XV. The presentation featured over 20 minutes of new gameplay while showcasing the protagonists’ hideout which has a variety of functions such as a side activity called a monster hunting board or the ability to review the overall story of Final Fantasy XVI through a loresman and Scholar, giving you quick access to the world’s history, the current state of the story, specific time periods, and details of each character you’ve encountered so far.
We of course get a good look at combat as Final Fantasy XVI shows that the series has fully transitioned to an action RPG epic. While there are still RPG elements present, it looks and plays like an action-adventure with crazy set pieces such as Eikon vs Eikon battles that are not a cutscene but actual boss encounters. The amount of moves Clive will learn also suggests an array of combos and juggling opportunities so I definitely foresee combo highlight videos from content creators in this game’s future.
Final Fantasy XVI is set to launch on June 22 for the PlayStation 5.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
