Free-to-play Roller Champions launches this May

Ubisoft announced that they are finally launching their free-to-play game Roller Champions on May 25 with cross-play and cross-progression support.

The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It will also be available on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 through backward compatibility. Roller Champions will also be available on the Nintendo Switch but at a later date.

Roller Champions was first unveiled back in E3 2019 and was first scheduled to be released in 2020. But with a mix of development woes and the COVID-19 pandemic, the project experienced numerous delays.

The free-to-play game lets you and two other players compete against another team of three to see who can be the first team to score five points in a match. Passing at least four games in the course will open up your team to shoot the ball into the goal. Take more laps around the course and you can earn more points when you shoot the ball. If you lose possession of the ball, your progress to score resets. \

The progression in Roller Champion allows players to earn in-game cosmetics to customize your avatar in the game and there will be a Roller Pass each season that features more rewards. The free-to-play game will also feature different ways to be competitive as there will be new leagues to participate with Elite Champions’ league waiting for you at the top, where you get to face the best players in the game.
