Hi-Fi Rush Is Now Available on the PS5
/Bethesda Softworks and developer Tango Gameworks have released the action adventure rhythm game Hi-Fi Rush on the PlayStation 5, a title that was originally an Xbox exclusive and was shadow-dropped the moment it was announced at the start of 2023 during an Xbox broadcast presentation.
Here’s a quick description of the game from Bethesda.
Every strike, parry, dodge, jump and more syncs automatically to the music, turning every encounter in Hi-Fi RUSH into a musical mosh made even gnarlier when playing to the rhythm. Line up devastating Beat Hits, tag-team partner attacks and showstopping Special Moves in exhilarating rhythm-action combat. All you have to do is Feel. The. Beat.
Hi-Fi RUSH on PlayStation 5 also includes post-launch updates and modes like the Arcade Challenge! Update!. See how far (and how fast) you can go in BPM Rush, earn powers and climb for the high score in Power Up! Tower Up! or even strike a pose with Photo Mode. (Note: Players get access to BPM Rush and Power Up! Tower Up! after completing the main story campaign. Once unlocked, these features are available from the Hideout.)
Hi-Fi Rush was an easy Game of the Year contender for me as I gave it a perfect score when I reviewed it last year. Its unique combat and likable cast of characters still echo all through 2023, a year many considered to have an amazing list of great titles.
The release of Hi-Fi Rush is one of the four games Xbox has decided to give multi-platform releases this year in an attempt to reach more players for these titles. The other Xbox games are Pentiment (out now), Grounded (April 16, 2024), and Sea of Thieves (April 30).
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
