Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name Announced for 2023

A spin-off game titled Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name was announced during the RGG Summit livestream event. It’s an action adventure game with Kazuma Kiryu back in the protagonist role as this game sheds some light on the events between Yakuza 6: The Song of Life leading up to Like a Dragon 8, which was also announced during the event. 

The team at Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio working on Like a Dragon Gaiden mentioned during the livestream that this spin-off game will be half the size of a regular Yakuza mainline title. It is also said that this title will help those not familiar with Kiryu yet, probably suggesting those that played only Yakuza 7: Like a Dragon, which had Ichiban Kasuga as the protagonist in the turned-based RPG. 

It is also said that Kiryu will don a new fighting style, though they didn’t reveal exactly what it will be. 

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The man Who Erased His Name is set to launch sometime in 2023 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC (via Windows and Steam).
