MultiVersus closed alpha starts this week, open beta planned for July
/Warner Bros. and developer Player First games have announced that their free-to-play platform fighter MultiVersus will have an open beta sometime in July. A closed alpha is also planned and it will run from May 19 to 27.
Registration for the closed alpha is now available and will feature two-versus-two mode, one-on-one matches, 4-player free-for-all. and a practice mode.
The characters available during the closed alpha will be Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn from DC; Shaggy and Velma from Scooby-Doo; Jake and Finn from Adventure time; Steven Universe and Garnet from Steven Universe; Bugs Bunny and Tasmanian Devil from Loony Tunes; Arya Stark from Game of Thrones; Tom & Jerry and an original creature called Reindog. The closed alpha will also feature seven maps.
Not all characters available in the closed alpha will be available once it goes live, so expect a bit of grind to unlock each character to try them out.
The platform fighter will play similarly to the famous Super Smash Bros. series and the recently released Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl. It was first announced back in November and is planned to come out on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC with cross-play support. The platform fighter will have dedicated server-based rollback netcode and content-filled seasons to support the game after launch.
