No Man's Sky Looks Tempting As Ever, Origins Update Now Live
/ Carlos HernandezHello Games just updated their space exploration survival game No Man’s Sky with the Origins update, which brings new planets, creatures, multi-tool upgrades, improved visuals, and more.
The 3.0 update makes it look like Hello Games is now in arms length to the original vision first marketed years ago when it was launched in 2016. We all know how disappointing but promising No Man’s Sky was at launch but 4 years later, it’s now unrecognizable…but in a good way.
Based on the patch notes, the Origins update bolsters the concept of exploring various planets by not only adding more exotic creatures or wildlife to encounter but expand the game’s universe by having some systems to feature multiple stars. There is also an overhaul in the game’s interface, new items , more crafting, and revamped Photo Mode.
But what is the overall goal for the Origins Update? Apparently, it’s not only to impress new players new to No Man’s Sky but to make the game look fresh for players that have spent countless hours on it already.
In an interview with Polygon, game director Sean Murray said that “We’ve updated the game a lot, but [the game] itself hasn’t changed that much, in terms of the fundamental planets that you go around and explore. People have had hundreds of millions hours in that universe we’ve made [and] ... to an extent, it’s a little bit embarrassing. We should really make that better.”
The game will look slightly different visually for veterans as well since the update includes a new cloud rendering technology as well as more color variety. Expect more traders to interact with, valuable artifacts to uncover, and even encounter sand worms because that’s now a thing in some planets.
No Man’s Sky is available on PC and PS4 and since it’s release in 2016 Hello Games has been updating their gem ever since. If you haven’t touched No Man’s Sky thanks to it’s reception in it’s first year, I suggest (me included) you give this a try now.

Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.

Lego Horizon Adventures transforms the serious world of Horizon Zero Dawn into a playful experience geared towards younger gamers. With a lighter story, fun character twists, and familiar machines recreated in Lego form, it serves as a charming introduction to Aloy’s universe. While hardcore fans may find it a bit basic, it’s ideal for friendly, family-oriented play with loved ones of any age.
Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero is a hefty game, yet the clear omissions make it feel like a lesser product compared to a title from nearly two decades ago. And while that may disappoint a lot of players, what is present is a great action fighter that looks and more importantly feels awesome to play.
