Ratatan to Be Published by Game Source Entertainment, Still Set for 2025 release
/The Patapon spiritual successor Ratatan, is still set to release sometime in 2025 as we get a new gameplay trailer showcasing a more polished look of the game since we last saw the title in action. Developers TVT and Ratata Arts have also made a deal with an Asian publishing called Game Source Entertainment to be the their title’s publisher.
Patapon Spritual Successor Ratatan
RATATAN is a Rhythmic Roguelike Action Game, developed in collaboration between Hiroyuki Kotani, the game designer of the renowned series Patapon, released on PSP in 2007, and Tokyo Virtual Theory (TVT). Players act as the Ratatan, using magical instruments to deliver different commands to the armies of Cobun to attack the enemies.
In addition to attack and defence rhythmic sequences, there are also actions that allow the Ratatan to move freely, withunique skills for each character, further deepening the musicality of the game. Players will enter “fever mode” when they accurately follow the rhythm sequences. During Fever mode, the background music is said to change interactively, making characters perfom various actions.
Ratatan is a roguelike
The big change in Ratatan is that this will be implementing the roguelike system. In each adventure, Your squad will randomly receive different power-ups and rewards in every battle, and expect different experiences each time you play a different run
Known artist Nelnal is the game’s illustrator and character designer, as his work provides a unique twist in the game’s art design while retaining a familiar look that will be noticeable to Patapon fans.
According to a press release provided, the game will also feature a “brand new system and mini games for multiplayer. It will utilize TVT’s own “Theory Engine” to provide a fast and stable environment for online multiplayer.”
A game publishing company in Asia called Game Source Entertainment has agreed with developers TVT and Ratata Arts to publish Ratatan as it is set to launch on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Developers Ratata Arts had a successful Kickstarter as the campaign concluded with 14,598 backers pledging ¥219,314,335, which is roughly $1.4 million to support the development of this project.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has the potential to be a favorite for fans of the franchise, delivering an authentic Indiana Jones experience with its story and cinematic presentation. While the game shines in its exploration and puzzle elements, the combat and stealth mechanics’ lack of gameplay variety holds it back.
