Summer Game Fest 2023 Ended the Show with a new trailer for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
/The Summer Game Fest 2023 showcase ended with a bang as we get a new look at the upcoming JRPG Final Fantasy VII Rebirth the continuation of the epic story that started with Final Fantasy VII Remake.
This wasn’t a tease either as the trailer shows was over 3-minutes long and highlights the scale of the game as Cloud and the rest of the game are now venturing forth and is exploring the world outside Midgar. We see flashbacks of Cloud and Tifa’s past, Turk member Elena in action, the gameplay of Red no longer a guest character but controllable and a member of the party, and even Yuffie confirming that she will be part of the group at some point in the game.
The interesting part of what was shown is that it seems like two party members will tag-team to attack a target together as we see Aerith coordinating with Tifa, as well as Yuffie and Red XIII attacking in unison.
The trailer ends showing a release window of early 2024, but the real surprise is that the game will be launching in two discs, suggesting that the game’s scale couldn’t be contained on a single disc.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is set to launch on the PlayStation 5, but with Final Fantasy 7 Remake now available on PC, it wouldn’t be surprising if we see Rebirth being available on PC sometime after the game is released on PlayStation.
Square Enix also released new images of the game based on what was shown in the trailer above.
This will be music to the ears of kids who grew up on the series, but for the uninitiated, there’s nothing quite like the Mario & Luigi games. Mario & Luigi Brothership does its best to appeal to a wide range of players with charming presentation and a strong new Battle Plug system, but not everyone will be enamored with its reflex-testing gameplay.
