Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft have revealed that Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is getting an expansion and it’s called Warlords of New York, which is surprisingly going live on March 3, 2020 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Thanks to how the narrative is moving with Episodes 1, 2, and the recently released Episode 3, many players knew that they were going back to Manhattan. We just didn’t think a paid expansion was on it’s way in less than a month from now.

There’s a lot to take in with the Warlords of New York expansion. Division agents are now focused on going after rogue Division agent Aaron Keener, who is working on a new bioweapon that’s yet another threat you have to deal with in an already messed up modern world. He’s surrounded by loyal follows that must be hunted down before going after Keener and taking out these key targets will unlock new and old gear skills to expand the players options as they reach the new level cap of 40.

New players planning to rush to the Warlords of New York content can opt for a level 30 booster which is available for each edition of the expansion.

Title Update 8 goes live with Warlords of New York

Title Update 7 just went live together with Episode 3’s content and you don’t have to wait much long for the next big update as it will come together with Warlords of New York. Title Update 8 comes with a complete RPG overhaul in hopes to makes the endgame grind more palatable compared to what it is right now. Improved UI will also be implemented for easier gear and inventory management and expect a more streamlined recalibration system to fully optimize your loadout to a specific playstyle.

There are also going to be improvements to the game’s 3 existing Dark Zones as the expansion will not feature a new Dark Zone in New York.

Seasons and Leagues, plus the return of Global Events

Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment is looking past the Warlords of New York by announcing post-launch content we can expect in 2020. Seasons are coming and they are 3-month-long endgame events for players to partake in for unique rewards and the first Season begins a week after the expansion launches. There will be a progression system for each Season, and simply playing the game or doing season-specific content will unlock new rewards.

Global Events make a return and Division 1 players will be familiar with this one as it will work the same it did in the first game. It’s a time-limited event that implements specific game modifiers to the entire game’s open world content. It can be from making players and enemies easier to go up in flames to losing life if you are near an enemy faction. Anything can be implemented during a Global Event and this feature will provide more variety and require more adaptability from players to stay alive.

Last are leagues, which are straight-up challenges to test your skills in the game for unique rewards.
