The Elder Scrolls Online’s Update 44 Live on Consoles, Adds New PvP Mode and Companions
/The console version of The Elder Scrolls Online now has Update 44 live as this free update introduces big improvements to Battlegrounds PvP and adds two new companions.
Starting today, The Elder Scrolls Online has launched Update 44 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. This free update introduces big improvements to Battlegrounds PvP mode and unveils two new Companions.
What’s New in Update 44?
Released as a free, base-game update, Update 44 brings significant changes to PvP combat and adds two new Companions to the world of Tamriel. Console players can now experience these features following the PC/Mac release on October 28.
Meet the New Companions – Tanlorin & Zerith-var
Update 44 also introduces two unique Companions who bring their own combat styles to the game:
Tanlorin – A scrappy High Elf skilled in mixing Soul Magic with Dragonknight abilities.
Zerith-var – A stoic Khajiit utilizing Necromancy to assist players in combat.
Both Companions are available for free to ESO Plus members or for purchase in the in-game Crown Store.
New PvP Battlegrounds Format and Maps
One of the most notable changes in Update 44 is the shift from three-sided to two-sided PvP matches. Now, Battlegrounds will feature:
4v4 Matches – A competitive mode between two teams of four.
8v8 Matches – A larger mode that introduces power-ups, pitting two teams of eight against each other.
While the classic 4v4v4 game mode is no longer in regular rotation, it may return during special events. The update also adds seven brand-new Battlegrounds maps for players to explore and compete within.
Celebrate with the ESO Battlegrounds Brawl Event
To celebrate the launch of the new PvP mode, ESO will host a Battlegrounds Brawl livestream event with content creator SypherPK and Alienware. Tune in on November 20 at 12:30 pm ET at twitch.tv/bethesda. Players can watch, participate in PvP matches, and win Twitch drops and prizes.
Update 44 first went live on PC servers a few weeks ago, October 31.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has the potential to be a favorite for fans of the franchise, delivering an authentic Indiana Jones experience with its story and cinematic presentation. While the game shines in its exploration and puzzle elements, the combat and stealth mechanics’ lack of gameplay variety holds it back.
