The Fighting Game Glossary aims to make things a tad easier for new and returning players with detailed explanation of each term you’ll need to know about a fighting game.
The glossary is called The Fighting Game Glossary and it has over 650 terms from 14 different fighting games; Super Smash Bros, Street Fighter, SoulCalibur, Mortal Kombat, Guilty Gear, Tekken, Killer Instinct, Marvel vs. Capcom, BlazeBlue, Dragon ball FighterZ, Under Night In-Birth, Samurai Shodown, King of Fighters, and Injustice.
Heard someone say “shoto” or “plick” during Street Fighter talks, streams, and discussions? A quick search through the glossary and it will explain terms like these in the simplest way. Some terms are also given videos that visually show how it looks like in action.
I’ve looked through the website and it’s pretty extensive. The website is easy to navigate and the explanation is quick and easy to understand, making it friendly to any type of player. It’s a great tool that all players should bookmark for those moments when you hear some sort of jargon and need a quick explanation.

FGC veteran Ricky, or better known as Infil, led the project and it took him and those involved 9 months to get the work done. An impressive effort for a tool given for free to everyone that wants to learn more about their fighting games.
I’m going to keep this glossary in my back pocket as Guilty Gear Strive is just around the corner. A series that I barely play and know but eager to learn how the game works and hopefully reach a level where I properly utilize all of the game’s tools and features.
