Outriders Surpasses 3.5 Million Players During It's First Month
/ Carlos HernandezSquare Enix announced that People Can Fly’s looter shooter Outriders did pretty well during it’s first month as over 3.5 million unique players jumped into the game and spent an average of over 30 hours exploring the planet Enoch.
“Launching a new game IP is never easy and we remain very grateful for the community’s support and feedback – we continue to listen carefully and want to assure everyone that we are committed to improving and enhancing the experience in the coming weeks and months. We also look forward to expanding on OUTRIDERS in the future.” says Jon Brooke, Co-head of Studio at Square Enix External Studios.
This is a good sign for the new IP developed by Bulletstorm studio People Can Fly, especially after hearing players spent at least a good amount of time with the game. Despite having launch issues with cross-play, the game received positive reviews from critics and fans of the genre. I too enjoyed my time with this looter shooter as it reminded me of Borderlands or even Diablo thanks to it’s gameplay loop of just killing whatever moves and picking up whatever drops.
