Ubisoft To Skip E3 2023, Will Release a Ubisoft Forward on June 12
/It’s announced that Ubisoft – who initially expressed being part of E3 2023 earlier this year – is now backing out and decided to skip this year’s big event. They will now instead host a live Ubisoft Forward event in Los Angeles on June 12, 2023.
The report came from VGC, when the company told the site that “While we initially intended to have an official E3 presence, we’ve made the subsequent decision to move in a different direction, and will be holding a Ubisoft Forward Live event on June 12 in Los Angeles. We look forward to sharing more details with our players very soon.”
This is considered to be the video game event’s big comeback after missing a few years due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In this year’s event, June 13-14 will be reserved exclusively for business, while the rest of the days will be for consumer visitors.
The unusual thing is, E3 2023 is just months away with no major video game company confirmed to be attending, as well as a complete list of brands attending. As for the big three, Nintendo confirmed that they won’t be attending this year, while Xbox will also not attend as they plan to host their own physical event a week before E3. Xbox also has an Xbox Games Showcase happening on June 11. As for Sony, they have not attended the event since 2018 and have not shown any interest to come back.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
