V Rising Guide - How to make a roof for your castle

In this guide we quickly explain how building a roof works in the survival game V Rising as it’s fairly easy to apply and protect yourself from the sun once you have all the requirements in place.

How to make a roof in V Rising

To apply a roof in your newly built castle, all you need to do is apply reinforced walls and castle floor tiles in your enclosed space.

If you’re a new player just starting out in a new server, you don’t need to worry about this just yet as you need to progress to a point that you can now build a Sawmill and a Grinder, as you need these stations to build reinforced walls and castle floor tiles.

Each reinforced wall needs 10 Stone Bricks and 6 Planks, while each castle floor tile needs 4 Blood Essences and 4 Stone Bricks. Stone Bricks can be made with a Grinder while Planks can be made with a Sawmill. For Blood Essences, you usually pick it up when fighting animals or humans out in the world, or you can make some using the Blood Press station.

Once you’ve reinforced your castle, the game will automatically apply a roof in your castle, giving you the benefits of having an enclosed castle and best of all, protection from the sun during the day. Those who like to customize every detail of their base will be disappointed to know that they have the option to pick the type of roof applied. But hey, at least resources weren’t needed to apply a roof.

The best way to notice that a roof was applied is when the lighting inside has changed. You can also check your refining stations if you have the ‘In Confined Castle Room’ buff, which increases the refining speed by 25%. If there’s still no roof, there’s likely a missing tile or wall that wasn’t reinforced, so be sure to check every corner of your home if you missed anything.

And that’s really all there is to it when it comes to roofs in V Rising. The survival game has been out in Steam’s Early Access since May 17, 2022.
